“Will be coming back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2011

Came to GC for a friends 30th Birthday.

Picked the Santa Clara due to bungalow sizes and location, which met my expectation.

The bungalows arent ultra modern but there where clean and confortable, little added touches like the cleaner leaving flowers were a nice unexpected extra.

Pools were nice and the pool bar wasnt over priced and food and drink was perfect.

Will be coming back in May...

Room Tip: All very good ...

Very good basic accomodation, at a good price.Pool bar was excellent quality and price.Rooms were basic, but very clean-As is the whole complex.Playa da ingles is typical man made resort with somthing for every taste. Really good beach and millions of bars. Aqua park was a bit of a ripp off, you had to pay extra for a sun bed and lockers. Try Mackers just around the corner for pint of Amstel for 1 euro. Would recommend to any wanting good affordable self catering.

Room Tip: 2 bed room bugalows much better standard than the 1 bedroom.

Just returned from a week's holiday at the Santa Clara bungalows, and the found the complex to be excellent value for money. The bungalows are set in well kept gardens and are fairly basic but I found it on par with other self-catering accommodation ive stayed in. No air-con, and the weather was very hot for the first few days, but to be honest I can't say i found it to be a problem. There are 2 very good sized swimming pools and I never had a problem getting a lounger - although the complex ( and the resort in general ) was pretty quiet. Maids were around most days and I found them friendly and cheerful - even washed the dishes! Good location, just a few minutes walk to the nearest supermarkets and bars. Yumbo about a 10 minute walk, beach about 15 mins. Never been to Gran Canaria before but would return, Playa del ingles has an amazing beach, loads of places to eat, locals were
polite and friendly and the weather fantastic! I did find it quite expensive, probably about the same as UK!

Me and my friend booked this holiday back in Jan Xmas blues and that and i started to worry what we had let ourself's in for after reading reviews on here..

Let me tell you these bungalows are perfect!!.... well not if u like 5 star luxary, but if a nice chilled out holiday in a great location is what you want then this place is fab!

first of all you have a front and back garden which is a great sun trap from 9am till at least 6pm depending on location of ur room meaning if u dont want to or cant be bothered after a few cocktails the night before you dont need to leave ur room which on most days we dident!

room was great bedroom very spacious bathroom basic but clean and usable kitchen clean and only things u needed to buy was sponge and washing up liquid very cheap from supermarket just a 5 min walk, living area was great only thing if you are going in high season i would deffo recommend hiring a air con we dident as it was a budget holiday but in june/july/aug i think heat would be unbearable in rooms. Our maid was fantastic always happy and even sung and danced to our music we always had playing, even washed our dishes one afteroon when we were out!!! something you never see!!!!.....

Nightlife!

Now depending on how you normally spend your nights out you could got one of three ways!

Down to yumbo centre which untill 10pm is great after is even better but deffo need a open mind as you will see things you may never see again i.e lots of drag queens and 'men only' bars!!! we went into one and i did not relise it was 'men only' untill my friend got told by bar men that if i needed the toilet i needed to go else were! we never found out why and took our drinks else were.... rickys cabaret bar is a must! the girls/guys in there are so much fun and can have u laughin all night! we even walked past one afternoon and one was dressed as Cheryl cole!!!

then along to the kasbah centre were you have your pacha, chinawhite, linkers and mtv bar all of which are great! our fav was a irsh bar molly mallons for 5euro you can get 2 large beers and a shot of peach snaps which did not taste watered down also there is a music quiz were if you shout out the singers you win shots or a cocktails! beware it may sound a good offer down there bogof but you still end up paying 6euro for 2 pints which still works out as 3 euro each there not daft!

then finally the centre just behind the bungalows this is were u want to go if u wanna see corrie and eastender or ur weekly fix of xfactor!

and last but not least the beach area but we found this to much of a walk down to make it worth while when we found bettter bars closer to the bungalows but for a change it is nice but there is hooters and mcdonalds.

Days out we only did one which is water park great fun for kids!.. and those big kids at heart and at 25euro good fun to get out of resort get a great tan and get some exercise!!! haha

All in all this holiday was Fantastic and after weeks of not looking forward to it i am sittin writing this begging to fly back!

All i can say is you sometimes only get what you pay for at hotel but i feel this hotel is perfect for them holiday makers who like to try and see new things on holiday and who arnt to bothered about the beach or even bothered to walk!

Staff 10/10
Location for bars/food 10/10
Location for beach 5/10
Overall 10/10

.

Room Tip: 929 is out the way of the main pool areas and great for sunbathing in garden area get sun from 10am...

This was a budget break so we didn't expect 5 star. However we were very happy with the accommodation. It was a little tired, but clean. We had a front and back door in our bungalow and were near the 2 pools. There were ceiling fans in the bedroom and lounge and shutters on windows, so they could be left open. Towels changed every 2 days, beds 2 times a week, maid every day. No kettle, but pots to boil water, a toaster, microwave and coffee maker. Clothes drier outside as well as coin operated washing machine and dryer (4 euro each). We were there late September and it was very quiet, but 2 mins from Yumbo and Chaparral. Pool bar was reasonably priced and had free wifi. The staff were all very nice and happy to provide any extras such as pillows and towels. We met people who had been going there for many years and we fully expect to be back next year.

We'd visited the SCB briefly in Feb when we had friends and family staying there (we were located elsewhere in PdI) and we very pleased to get booked here when we visited 01/09-15/09 this year.
Rooms were cleaned near daily. The complex is very quiet, with mainly families and couples.
It right in the middle of the resort within walking distance of the CC's Gran Chapparal (English/Dutch bars), Yumbo and Kasbah as well as the Jardin del Sol which has a few cheap bars n restaurants (recommend Mackers, Big Bens and the China Sol, which is cheap but nice enuf and the staff are lovely ppl).
Wud definately recommend these bungalows and wud stay here again happily!!!
