With the pound to the Euro being low the best option is bed, breakfast and evening meal for sure. The room was adequate - in the front there would have been a better view but the noise would have driven us crazy. The little verandah was nice but had no view as we were at the side of the hotel. Overlooking the pool could have been noisy as the main road was just behind the pool. Some of the guests were rude and quite elderly and were cheeky to the most obliging dining room staff - especially Billie. The food was all right but not of a good quality standard but then again they were cooking for a lot of people. It was as if they were buying in the cheapest of the cheapest. But there was no shortage of it. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is not the place for you to stay. We hated the queue to get into the dining room - especially at breakfast time. There were three of us and we needed a table for four - but often single people took these tables which we thought should not have been allowed and could easily have been controlled - we often had to split which annoyed us. Any problems were always attended to efficiently by Reception but they really need to 'jack-up' the queing system in the dining room. Maybe more staff in there to clear the used tables quicker would help and not allowing single people to sit at tables for four just because they wanted more space should be sorted out. Green Field was nicely situated and the walk along the beach/promenade to San Augustn or Maspalomas was delightful both at night and during the day. Sort out car hire in England before you leave and pay for it in pounds saves a lot of money. The roads are horrendous - steep and twisty - but well worth using and travelling around the island to all the little towns. Do the research in advance though of what the towns have to offer.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Green Field for three week in February 2009. Booked an apartment with one bedroom through our travel agent. Arrived after midnight and were allocated a narrow studio apartment witht a small balcony almost completely shadowed by Hotel Green Garden (the next door hotel). This mistake was corrected next morning, politely and professionally, and we were given one bedroom apartment, clean, neat and comfortable with roomy and sunny balcony, on third floor almost over the hotel entrance.
The only thing we really missed in this flat was a dinner table, as we took our lunch an dinner in the apartment, having only the breakfast coming with the packet we bought. We solved this problem by using the balcony furniture, two plastic chairs and a small round plastic table, barely taking two plates and two glasses.
The breakfast was from a buffet, offering a wide choice of food, most of it quite good, (the sausages and the shredded carrots left something to be desired). On the other hand, the dark blue porous plastic table “cloths” seemed moderately clean at the best and always tacky by touch and made the breakfast time less enjoyable than it could have been. The coffee came from a machine, a choice of three varieties, in my opinion from bad to awful. The hot water (from the same machine) was OK and a choice of tebags to go with it. Fruit juice, also from a machine with a choice of three varieties (more or less all with the same over-sugary taste however) could be taken in very small glasses (ca. two mouthful each).
Overall we liked our stay at Green Field very much. It was comfortable, clean (I only saw one insect, a small bug that we could easily have brought into the apartment ourselves, with some fruits, for instance) and the staff was very friendly and seemed to be efficient. The beds are very good and we could not complain of disturbing noise during the night. However, the hotel is situated close to the “Irish Centre” in the Centro Aguila and consequently there is not so distant cacopony of dance music and beat in the evening but that is only disturbing to those who are very sensitive to that sort of a noise.
On the hotel grounds there are a spacious sunbathing facilties and swimming pool and there always seemed to be sufficient sun loungers. We did not use it, though, as we prefer to be on the move and/or walk along the shore, which is within easy reach from this hotel.
Would we recommend this hotel to our friends? Very much so, and we are looking forward to visit it again ourselves.

Just a quick review....Hotel is basic but nice! We stayed B+B ... lots 2 choose from @ breakfast! Rooms were nice and no cockroaches thank god! Pool area is calm and relaxing although the pool itself is a bit cold...plenty of sun loungers though... walking distance to beach is 5-10 mins, yumbo 10 mins, kashba 5 mins, irish centre 2 mins.... rooms changed and cleaned every day except Tue and Thu as these are the maids days off.

The hotel is nothing special. It is a budget accommodation option. The rooms were bigger than I thought and quite nice to my surpsise.
The pool was busy and it was hard to find any sun loungers.
The restaurant was so tacky! The breakfast was very average and the dinner was just good overall. Some evenings the food was very good and some others was so uninspiring.
My biggest dissapointment was the poor quality of veg and fruit!
Overall it is a 3 star hotel, but it wouldn't take much to make it better. It was quiet and full of elderly people, which we didn't mind at all.
The location was good, always walked everywhere and only used a taxi a couple of times when we were lazy to walk to maspalomas beach.
