My partner & I went to Sioux City on the Friday night BBQ. We paid 100 euros.

Although the entertainment was mildly amusing, the BBQ consisted of pork & chicken which were cold. Wine was as cheap & nasty as they come. No way was it worth 100 Euros.

I wish I had seen the previous reviews before I went on holiday.

Our first holiday in the Canaries and Sioux City was one of the places we were very keen to visit. Our party consisted of myself and my husband who is a wheelchair-user, our 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son.
The Thomas Cook rep. assured us that the terrain would be fine for the wheelchair and we booked through them. It was undoubtably their mistake, although there are disabled access toilets. The terrain was something which concerned us so it was the first thing we asked about.
The ground is in most places, soft sand which is quite deep in parts - too deep for a wheelchair with a 12st man on board. There were walkways along the sides which were too high to get on to at convenient stages.
We had such a struggle getting from A to B we ran out of time to really see much.
We paid £180 for the four of us - this included a barbeque - lots and lots of meat and a little salad, also the free bar. The wild west show in the evening was good fun - we all enjoyed that and in the bar we had live country music by Irish cowboy John Fahey and a line dancing display, which we missed as it was time to leave.
I thought the cost failed to reflect the quality of the excursion - I think this mainly covered the inclusive bar, although we couldn't really drink as we were struggling so much to get around.
All in all, if you are able bodied or maybe a small light person or child in a wheelchair - this would be a much better day out.
I don't like to be so negative about it as the performers were very good and the set itself very authentic but please don't pay all that money if you have mobility problems - or take yourself there and back to afford yourself more time to see it all.

Well we had seen advertisements and leafelts for sioux city and they did not do it justice, the leafelts make it look childish and kiddy-fied but this is not the case. I went with my girlfiend, both of us in our twentys and had a great day out.

Sioux City was build as a western style set of a film god knows how many years ago, and it has now been made into a theme park, but not in the usual sense, there are no rollercoasters and only a handful of rides and all for very small children.

It cost us 17 euros per adult to enter, (you can pay 40 euros for an evening show and bbq on a friday night which is ment to be very good, but i couldnt see the point in paying that much extra)

The whole palce is amazing to look at, its like being catapulted into the wild west with cowboys and indians roaming down the sandy streets around the tourists, making ti feel as though you are actualy in a western town.

There is plenty to do from a petting zoo, with horses donkeys chickens cows etc, and even crocodiles (which you cant pet), there is even a reptile house if you like scary snakes and spiders!

You can wander around the town in and out of many of the buildings such as a jail, bar saloon, bank, church and a few more. And even rent a horse to get about.

The saloon is a real bar serving food and drink at a very reasonable price, this is also the set for a number of the shows and skits put on throughout the day.

The shows are what makes this place, there is everything from Red Indians doing knife throwing to a full scale bank robbery in the high street, with shoot-outs etc.

What makes this so good is that your not sat down watching from a distance, bits of the high street are roped off so you are only standing meters away from the action, again adding the the feel that you are really there!

Once inside everything is reasonably priced and you do not feel you are being ripped off like so many other theme parks, in all it was one of the best days of our holiday! Another perk is, all the acting is either in english or translated into english, so you dont miss out!

A definate must for gran canaria!

we went to the friday night bbq at sioux city. we were met by 2 mean looking cowboys on their horses which really set the feel for the night. the bbq is average but the setting and the night is so good the meal becomes unimportant! the price of the ticket includes the bbq and the bar is free!! all night!!!!!!! i recommend the tequila!
the theme park (the original old set where 'fistful of dollars' was filmed) is brilliant. for 7E you can be lead through the town on one of the horses by a cowboy and pretend you are a cowboy/girl! There is a live singer (c&w) and then the show.
the show is great. cattle running, shoot outs, knife throwing, can can girls. (strangely though the man doing the introduction is irish and sounds a bit like terry wogan!!) i enjoyed every minute of the show.
at the back of the town is miniature world which is basically loads of tiny horses, they are very friendly! after the show there is more music in the saloon and line dancing (just avoid the dancing, we did!).
i would definately go back and i would tell anyone on holiday in that area to visit it. its brilliant.
oh and if you do go, make sure you get a wanted poster for 6E, but remember to look mean!!!!!!!! yeehaw!

visited sioux city three years ago on first visit to island. Didnt take the reps advice to pay a fortune and go to the nightime show(47 euros each adult!). We picked up tickets for approx 12 euros each from the reception of our hotel in Maspalomas, took a taxi(6 euros each way), spent six very entertaining and very enjoyable hours there, had fantastic shows, a bank robbery and altogether two vwry happy travellers who are planning back again in September. I was told by other guests that the nightime one wasnt what they thought and they were sad that they hadnt gone during the day(they had two kids). A not to be missed attraction for authentic wild west fun
