“Third stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 weeks ago

We like this hotel very much, especially the friendly staff. Just returned from our third visit in 4 years. Agree with some of the other reviews regarding steps and confusion over floor levels etc. However, we are now well used to all this. We really enjoy the walking along the esplanade and into the port. Rooms are a little tired, but they are a very good size and the bathroom is also large.
Food, as usual, was very good with a huge choice at breakfast and evening meal. We will be back there again soon!

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have a sea view or a partial sea view.

A Good hotel in general great location but a little hilly if you have any mobility problems. The design of the hotel is a little difficult to get used too reception is on 0 and some of the rooms are minus .Internal steps feel like you are in a lighthouse and they need to change the cleaning products they use on these steps the smell is very off putting public toilets come to mind . Staff are super food good but very similar every day .Hope you are not a sun lover as the week we were there very selfish people put umbrellas up even when cloudy and then left for hours at a time . Room was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard .Overall a good choice .

Stayed here with my husband. Lovely location and peaceful. The rooms are a bit tired. The Service in general was good but breakfast could improve. The hotel is nice and quite. The music and service in the bar at night is enjoyable. It is a stretch to call this hotel a four star. Our room was quite but other guests facing the road spoke of noise. Hotel is in need of a face lift but the location would draw me back.

just back from weeks stay at this hotel I read the reviews and hoped for the best. Upon arrival we were given a glass of fizzy and our cases were in our room before us we were the only people booking in though. The room in b block was ok I did email hotel ask for nice view to be told we had just booked standard room which all located in b block I did ask to pay to upgrade but my email wasn't answered so I do think there is truth in reviews who say best rooms kept for german travel companies. It was our wedding anniversary on second day and upon returning from beach were surprised to find bottle of cava in room compliments hotel which was really very kind of them .The bed was like an instrument of torture it was the hardest most uncomfortable I have ever had the misfortune to attempt to sleep on in my like not helped by rubbery mattress cover do they have problem with incontinent guests ?The maid however was amazing our room was kept spotlessly clean really went over and above The food on the whole was very good the service in the dining room really good the waiters all very nice The entertainment on the other hand was dire !!!! unless of course as with everything in this hotel you are german as the dire duet sang mostly in german !!!!There was another bar which had occasional shows on usually with audience of about ten which was a shame but perhaps if they put on in outside bar as a change from german duet more people may have enjoyed When booking out male receptionist h.ardly looked up as took payment for our bar bill etc but as we sitting waiting transfer noticed he was very friendly towards yes you have guessed it german guests who approached reception desk so really if the hotel really only wants german guests I suggest they make it exclusive to german travel agencies !!By the way I have nothing whatsoever against germans they are on whole very nice people but I do have issues being treated as a second class citizen!!!!

Room Tip: some rooms on b block have less than lovely view of busy road petrol station

We recently stayed for two weeks..it was still good but I have some reservations about staying again for the fourth time. Check in was fine with a glass of I fizzy wine or juice. I had contacted the hotel asking for a room in D block which we were allocated D214.
When we got to our room the view was totally obscured by three Palm trees ..you could hear the sea but not see it! The bellboy brought our cases up showed us that the carry handle had been snapped off gave us the pieces said something in Spanish and left! Not a good start...we asked fir a room change and was given one the next day to 217 which we were more than happy with beautiful view.
Extra tables have been put into the dining area making it rather crowded but the food and service are still good. Safe charges 40 Euro for two weeks and drinks quite pricey.. beach bed prices gone up to 13-50 for two beds and an umbrella per day. There are lots of free Sun beds around the pool but placed very close together...why not remove some to the side and space the others out?
Entertainment is so so with a few poor live shows and a duo singing the same songs every week lol! They are quite good though and the Germans who are in the vast majority seem to love the dancing
The hotel caters mainly for middle aged German couples I did not see many children or British people at all...generally a good hotel very quiet but expensive for what you get

I honestly don't get the negative reviews. I am not German by the way and I thought the service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The food is great and the frontal sea view rooms are fantastic. Spacious and huge bathrooms. Very quiet hotel which I love. Before you book do some research. It has been mentioned here in every single review that there are a lot of steps so you are warned. Far better hotel than the Riu Palace in Corralejo and much better 'class' of people here. Recommended!

Sorry, but rather disappointed. On the plus side our room was excellent, very spacious, nice view of the beach and spotlessly clean. Our cleaner Carmen made a big effort every day with towel sculptures and even used my sarong to make a fan! But sadly think the bed was made from volcanic rock it was so hard and the rubber mattress protector was very unpleasant to sleep on.
Took several days to remember how to get from our room to reception - endless corridors and stairs and dont bother waiting for the lift when you get to it - it will never come!
Dinner is over 2 sittings and you are asked to choose on your first night. Second sitting is from 8.00 - 9.30pm but is very rushed. Staff will be rushing around setting up for breakfast while you are still eating and the food is cleared away at 9.30 on the dot so dont be late! Did not like the habit of being asked to sign drink bill during our main course. Waiters are a mixture of friendly, clueless or downright rude particularly the Maitre'd of the a la carte restaurant. We nearly walked out because of his offensive attitude - he just waved us to our table with a scowl & then literally threw the meal on the table. Dress code is not adhered to with some guests turning up as though they had just left the beach. The food however is excellent and most of the time the plates where hot!
Heavy German presence and undoubtably considered the guests to give the best service to. Staff very fluent in German but struggled with English.
Pool area very cramped and the only view is from the front row but get up when it is still dark because you know who will have got there first!!
Final gripe - 40.00 euros for the safe is excessive and frankly insulting considering the cost of the holiday.
Tips - if you intend to spend all your days on the beach get a weekly ticket as the 7th day is free - daily charge is 13.50 euros for 2 beds & umbrella.
Buy wine in the supermarket and put in your minibar fridge - our nightly bottle in the dining room cost 14.00 euros, 3.25 in the shops!
Had a good holiday as we went purely for the beach so thumbs up for that. Best thing about Fuerteventura was the airport - its modern, bright and beats Gatwick hands down!!
