“Bring your own beach towel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

I chose this hotel on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor. To be honest I think that we are used to a higher standard of hotels so therefore we were disappointed with Magic life Fuerteventura. The hotel does have good amenities - a choice of restaurants Spanish / Italian and Argentinian as well as the main restaurant. Food in the main restaurant was very good a great selection every day but as with all restaurants the Air Conditioning was totally inadequate, this spoiled the dining experience, there Is nothing worse than sitting in a hot restaurant for your meal which you rushed to eat so that you could leave asap. Plenty of sports activities throughout the day including: Shuffle Board , Water Polo , Tennis , Volleyball and Boccia there is also a well equiped gym with regular classes ie Zumba and Spinning at various levels they also offer escorted mountain bike rides for beginners and advanced although when my daughter tried to book herself onto one she was told rather patronizing by one of the ride leaders that she was not experienced enough!
The bedroom furniture is very dated, tired looking and in my room the drawers did not slide in and out straight. The central air conditioning is poor you have to switch on the ceiling fan which rattled every time it went round.
Pools are okay limited shaded areas and you need to get up early if you want a bed in the shade, pools with different depts to suit everyone, two bars at pool area one served the other served as well as self service for beer, wine and soft drinks, snacks and lunchtime menu.
I love the beach the occasional nudists didn't bother me, If you like to walk you can do so for hours on the beach but there is nowhere to walk to by leaving the hotel from reception. The town of Jandia is a cab ride away taking approx 15mins and cost approx 8-10 euros eachway it is worth the journey to get away from the hotel for the day.
If there was one thing I would do if I did ever go back to this hotel I would bring my own beach/pool towel the ones provided by the hotel (which can be changed daily at the shop for 2 hours in the morning and again lete afternoon) were very small you need 2 to cover a sun lounger also they were very rough, on one occasion I had a broken fingernail and was able to file it down by rubbing it in the towel!

Room Tip: Sea view room, although we only saw 3 boats pass in 2 weeks there;s nothing much going on out there.

We stayed here for 11 nights from the 24th August to 4th September and had a lovely time. Wasn't really sure what to expect when we first arrived as it was 10.30 pm and you couldn't really see a lot. However the next day it all became clear. The rooms were basic but nice and very clean, they had everything you needed (however would take some hangers with you). All the swimming pools were lovely and easily accessible. The whole complex was set in scenic grounds that were well maintained. If you are a family that love activities then there was something for you to do all day. I have never stayed at a hotel were there was so much offered. The food was first class, there was so much choice it blew your mind choosing what to eat every night. Snacks where offered all day long too. We tried the Italian and the Argentine restaurants and again both were very good. My sister turned 40 while we were out there and they hotel staff helped make this a special day. We had a cake baked for her for a small fee and the table was decorated beautifully with fresh flowers etc. The hotel staff were great from the reception staff to the cleaners - all were very helpful and friendly. The entertainments team also worked hard from the kids club that my daughter (aged 5) attended right through to the adults entertainment. I have never seen a dance floor so busy in the evenings were the staff worked really hard to get people up and making sure that they had a good time. There was even a theatre where you could watch live shows. I would recommend this place to anybody, my family, 11 of us whose ages ranged from 2 to 64 all had a fantastic time and there was something to suit everyone. We all hope to return soon. PS, the weather was great but was windy at times, however the wind helped to keep you cool in temperatures reaching above 30 degrees!

We chose this hotel for our latest holiday on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor . To be honest I think that we may just be used to a slightly higher standard of hotels - and therefore we were a little disappointed with Magic life as a result of our normal choices.

Amenities

The hotel actually does have pretty good amenities - a choice of restaurants ( Spanish / Italian and Argentinian ) as well as the main restaurant. Italian and Spanish are Buffet style with Waiter service in the Argentinian ( and Very good steaks BTW ) Food in the main restaurant was also very good but as with all restaurants in the hotel - the Air Conditioning was totally inadequate. This spoiled the evenings for us - there Is nothing worse than sitting in a hot restaurant for your meal. We heard many people complaining of the same issue - which extended into the Plaza Bar in the evening which was also very hot.

Sports : Shuffle Board , Water Polo , tennis , Volleyball and others - all run by the animation team . We played Shuffleboard every morning and also some Water Polo.

A Special Mention to the Animation team especially Jakobo , Alex and Doro ( Zorro ) who worked tirelessly to ensure we had a great time at Magic Life. They were working from early morning and still socialising with Guests up until Midnight - an were a joy to be around. Thanks guys you are the best we have ever experienced and are without doubt the best part of our holiday - I hope the management team get to see this review as you are the high point of the holiday.

Rooms

Very dated and tired looking. Fridge was never restocked with Water which was very annoying as so many times you need water at night - so you have to remember to go and get it yourself every day from a Water station. Whilst free - it would be so much better if the maids filled the fridge with water daily - and would be one less thing you have to remember. Air con - rubbish. Central air conditioning - very poor - so you had to switch on the ceiling fan which rattled every time it went round. These rooms should have individually controlled Air Conditioning so the guests can set the room temperature to suit their needs. This is the worst Air Conditioning we have ever had throughout the hotel and restaurants and needs to be addressed by the management. My guess is that they had it turned right down to save money - which is a false economy as it will put people off from returning.

Pools and Beach.

All fine - no issues - great beach - occasional nudists but not too many . Bars at both ends of main pool are fine with a good choice of drinks and snacks at Lunchtime. Italian opens for lunch at 2:30 til 5:00 and this is the best place to go for your lunch as you can sit outside in the breeze.

Dress Code:

Tailored shorts are allowed in all restaurants - and as the air con is so bad do not wear trousers !

Rooms

Book a sea view - very good views and a breeze on the balcony

Overall

We had a great time here because we met a great crowd of people and the animation team were excellent. The hotel is in no way any more than a low 4 star for amenities and quality. We would not return to this hotel as the Air Con is poor and the hotel needs refurbishing and brining up to standard.

Hope this helps - but there are many hotels out there of a much higher standard for this kind of money so look around before you book this - you may be disappointed as we were

Room Tip: We were in Room 19309 which is directly above the Naturist Pool ( Not really a pretty sight with mos...

Spent a week with my family here. The hotel is very well equipped, lot of sport activities. The food in all inclusive model is very goo - variety of food is extremely goo and every one can choose something suitable for him/her.
The hotel is located quite far from any townships or attractions so there is not much to do outside hotel. Thats why I feel that 7 days is the optimum time to spend at this site.

Went to this hotel in January weather not very good very windy. Hotel has excellent fitness classes including spinnercise got to be t he I've ever been to if you like to keep fit.
Food was again excellent something for everyone.
Pool area is large at main pool and loads of beds available just very windy but suppose it will be welcomed in hot summer months.
This hotel is on the sea front a steep incline to the beach. Nudist beach to your right.
There is a theatre with entertainment on but cannot review as never went in, lots of family's did enjoy this.
Rooms are large everything you need with plenty of hanging space, cleaned daily.

Our first all inclusive experience and we were not disappointed. From arriving at the hotel to checking out we had a fantastic time.
Checking in - quick and simple, and welcomed by friendly staff and champagne - nice touch!
Room - Block 15 - Pool and Sea View - large spacious clean room, table and chairs inside room as well as on balcony. Old TV but who watches TV on holiday? not us... my personal opinion would be a kettle and tea/coffee facilities in your room instead.
Food/Drink - All Inclusive accommodation or each guest so we didnt have to wear wrist bands - loved this idea - Food was amazing, lots of choice, separate restaurants to try out different cuisines. Drink, 24 hour which was a surprise, didnt have to queue too much either which I expected travelling at peak season. Also there were refridgerated bottled water which you could help yourself to anytime for your room / pool / beach.
Facilities - Amazing sports program and easy to use timetable or plenty of staff on hand to help if you're unsure.
I attended the Spin Class every morning ran by Andrea (full of energy and very welcoming) which was held on the balcony outside the Spin Centre overlooking the Sea, even in the heat it was a pleasure to be outside training.
My teenage son and I went on a couple of mountain bike rides in the afternoon too, a great way to see other parts of the island and all the activities were included in the price too.
My only gripe is the sunbeds, plenty of them, just full of towels that people had been to put on in the morning but failed to put their bodies on them till later in the day... this happens everywhere I know and the hotel have tried to address this by leaving notes in the rooms and on the beds but have been ignored.
However, I didnt play the towel on bed game, we went on the beach each day till lunchtime then had a siesta after lunch and by 4pm there were beds available.
This is a great choice of holiday for relaxation, activity or both....

Room Tip: Block 15 have pool and sea view and is central for all amenities. Block 14 has unlimited Sea View

Just returned from a 2 week stay at this hotel with my husband, 14 yr old daughter and 2 18 yr old boys. After a 4 hour flight on a very cramped Thomas Cook aeroplane we endured a 1hr 20 min transfer by coach to resort. Relieved to be at be hotel by 1.30pm we were unable to have our rooms until after 3pm which was frustrating but hotel policy, we were however encouraged to have lunch in the restaurant. I was relieved to discover that the hotel does not make you wear wrist bands to identify you as an all inclusive guest. Rooms were comfortable and spacious but a little dated in my opinion ready for updating. I would recommend paying for a sea view room as the views over the beach and sea are lovely. Daytime entertainment is delivered by Club Magic reps of various nationalities and includes pool games, boccia and shuffleboard to name but a few. There are 60 steep steps down to the beach therefore I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has a disability or to anyone unable to climb. There are also no toilets or bar area on the beach so frequent trips back up the steps would be necessary if you prefer to spend the day on the beach. Nighttime entertainment is centred around the plaza bar, with an evening show in the theatre at 9.30pm, music entertainment from 10.30pm and disco from 11.30pm until 2pm. The plaza bar has mostly setting outside therefore I would advise taking a wrap or jacket for the cooler/breezy evenings. There are 3 individual restaurants and 1 main buffet restaurant to choose from. There is a choice of Mediterranean, Italian and Argentinian all bookable 24hours in advance, very nice but also buffet style apart from the starter which is brought to the table. These returns would benefit from air conditioning to make the dining experience more enjoyable. Food is a good quality with plenty of choice even for my daughter who is vegetarian. The pool area provides a snack bar for food during the day if you do not want to go to the min restaurant. The air conditioning does turn off in he rooms from early morning until lunch time. You can take a 10min taxi to the town, €18 return or walk along he beach approx an hour, where there are souvenir shops, cafes etc. Tennis instruction is available daily and aerobic, fitness classes, spinning and the use of the gym. The teenagers in our party enjoyed the complex and were able to socialise until the small hours in a safe environment. Overall we really enjoyed our holiday, met some fantastic people and friends but would not return due to the airport transfer and limited air conditioning in the rooms and restaurants.

Room Tip: Pay for a sea view room the views are spectacular so well worth the extra money.
