“Good for young families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We have just returned from the Cala Blanca suites after 7 nights. Yes the sunbed situation is a bit annoying. But we got up for 8am and managed to get the mattresses that were in the shade everyday. But we either sat by the pool in a chair or used other reserved sunbeds until the owners of the towels showed up sometimes 3 hours later.... There is a sign which is covered by a plant that states you can't reserve sunbeds, but this is being ignored.

Yes i agree with other reviews, the pool area and restaraunt do feel too small for the size of the hotel in peak season. But I can't comment on what it would be like outside school holidays.

The pool was great and cleaned very morning, the slides in the pool were great and kept the kids distracted for ages. There are lifeguards at the pool. The pool bar was really handy, but the toliets at the pool could do with being cleaned more regulary. The floor got very dirty. The hotel is on a small beach and a short distance from the hotel we went to a small spit of rock where there was a diving board into the sea. This was popular with the locals and there was a small bar where you could buy drinks. The animation team and all the staff were friendly and hard working. The food was kid friendly with a good choice, however my husband is fussy about his food and had a moan sometimes, but most of the times was happy. My kids enjoyed the mini disco and the small play area.

Yes we did have to queue sometimes for meals but never more than 15 mins, but we expected this as we went at peak holiday time.

There is a small square just up from the hotel, which has entertainment on every night, starting with kids disco from about 9pm, then the main acts start at 9:30pm. It was 10 euros for 4 bottles of beer and the kids loved the trampolines.

We aso walked to the main beach, which was lovely it took about 20 mins with a 6 and a 3 year old. There are toliets at the beach, which are 50 cents to use but they were clean. There are a some lovely eating places, we had paella for 4.90 euros each. There is also a mcdonalds and burger king. We did get a taxi back to the hotel which cost about 4 euros during the day. There are the usual amenities, you can hire sunbeds, go on pedalo, banana boat or there were boat trips from a small jetty.

The hotel room was adeqaute for our needs and it came with a hairdryer, fridge and a table with 4 chairs to sit at. We weren't really in it long enough so we didn't find it small. We also liked the sun lounger on the balcony and the walk in wardrobe, where you could also store your suitcases. We got a ground floor room, it was a bit noisey but we were on holiday a peak time in a hotel and opted for the san francisco cocktails with alcohol to help with sleeping.....

You can hire pool towels for a deposit and we hired the safe for 3 euros a day.

We also paid extra for a taxi transfer which took about 25mins, far better than the bus transfer.

Overall we had a great time and kids didn't want to leave. The setting is lovely, especially from the pool bar on a night when the sun is setting.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room, at the end. At 10pm they empitied the bottles into the bins and at 7:30...

Just returned from a 10 night stay. Was disappointed with room on arrival. A little to small for five.
Bathroom was basic, ( i like a nice bathroom). Only 10 coat-hangers (really). So take your own! Air-con was rubbish. Food very nice, lots of fresh fruit. Pool bar doesn't open till 11am which i found bizarre. Entertainment same as most hotels. We went out most nights. The staff work really hard especially the restaurant manager. The hotel is basically too small for the amount of people staying there. Definitely a family hotel, and 90% English staying there. Will not be returning.
Hotel needs at least another 150 sun beds, and a bigger dining room.

Room Tip: Pay as much as you can for a good room.

Just returned from a 6 night stay here with my husband and 3 children under 5.Stayed in a family suite which was amazing: large room with double bed, sofa bed (not used) balcony & shower room interconnecting to a further bedroom and bathroom.Decor was tasteful, contemporary and the room was bright and airy, ideal as due to baby naps we had to spend time in it during the day.The colour scheme of White and blue was echoed throughout the hotel and the bar area with pretty tiles and interesting lighting was particularly attractive. We had 1/2 board and could not fault the food, there was a range of everything from beans and chips to local delicacies.
The pool area was safe and perfect for the ages of my children. The beach was quite smal but adequate for what they wanted. The kids club looked well organised but none of mine joined in, except for the evening disco which was always outside.I saw some of the entertainment which was better than I expected and the highlight for us was when there was a DJ in the beach bar with great music form early evening which extended into a beach party.
We went in August. It was full.It was the middle of the school holidays. It was busy. The pool area is a bit too small and sometimes there were queues for the restaurant but the staff worked incredibly hard to clean and clear tables to minimise this.we overcame this by sending one of us down to get a table and start getting food whilst the children played in the
Park or watched English cartoons in the bar which they didn't mind at all! The hotel was spotless and the reception staff were helpful when asked anything from local directions to getting a spare kettle for our room.
This is a lovely hotel and makes the most of the setting. Some of the more negative reviewers must have unrealistic expectations; despite having a massive room the price was reasonable and if you want fewer people and exclusivity immoral season it will cost a lot more.

Room Tip: Family suites are 109,209,309,409 .There are only 4 and we booked in November for August.

We took our two children age 6 & 3 here. Just got back from our stay today and wanted to let you all know what a fantastic time we had.
The hotel has a very modern, welcoming feel as soon as you arrive. And despite it being a small hotel, it has a spacious feel to it.
As mentioned its not a massive hotel but we felt it was the perfect size for a family with young kids so you can keep your eye on them.
Has two reasonable size pools and then a small beach which was a beautiful temperature to go for a swim.
The kids club and Animation entertainment were the highlight for us. You really felt that they loved their job and were amazing with the kids. My daughter was very sad to leave them all.
There is always activities for everyone to do but they are never pushy. I really enjoyed the yoga & pilates.
The hotel was very clean. rooms are nice too.
The restaurant is good. A buffet style so everyone gets to eat something they like. most of the staff here are fantastic apart from a couple of the cooks on show who I found rude at times and clearly didn't want to be serving us. Perhaps better off behind the scenes. But everyone else including the waiters were great.
If I had stayed a bit longer perhaps would have got a bit bored of the same restaurant.

Now to the sunbed situation. Yes it's true that there are not enough beds. But it didn't bother us. We refused to get caught up in the whole thing to be honest.
The day we got there the situation was dire, as things seemed to have changed when I had last checked trip advisor. people were not just placing towels the night before It now seemed that people were leaving their sun beds before dinner, some about 4 or 5 pm, with their towels o the bed and then folding the head rests down, not returning until the day. It was crazy! BUT the next day the hotel bought a new rule in, that all towels would be removed if left, and people couldn't put the towels down until 8am. This really did work well even though some people kicked up a fuss (We couldn't understand why, as this was a much fairer option to give ALL the PAYING guests an opportunity to try and bag themselves a sunbed) They new rule stayed in place throughout our time there. So I hope that the hotel keep this up and don't feel bullied by the few selfish guests who kick up a fuss :)

My husband and I had not booked this type of package, all inclusive holiday before and we were not sure if we would like it but we would definately consider a holiday like this again.

Thanks for a fantastic holiday!

Room Tip: A room on the outside as opposed to overlooking the centre. It was quieter.

Just returned home after a fab 10 day holiday. The hotel was clean and the room was a good size for a family of 4. The roo. was comfortable and clean. Not once did I get a whiff of what I call "the Spanish smell"! The mini disco at night was great for the kids, the later adult entertainment was abit hit & miss but a great deal of effort and enthusiasm was put into the entertainment by the animation team. The mini and maxi club was great! Staff were lovely and I felt comfortable leaving my children with them. The food at the hotel was nice and freshly cooked everyday with good variety. Vegetarians beware though as the staff used the sane pans, utensils etc for both vegetarian and neat meals. On more than one occasion my vegetarian daughter had bits of meat in the vegetarian meals from where utensils had been used on meat products and then on her food. Otherwise though really enjoyed eating in the restaurant. The only down fall was the pool area. There were not enough sun beds for the amount of guests. We were having to get up at stupid times in the morning to take towels down to get a sun bed. My husband said " we don't get up this early for work do why are we doing it on holiday?!" Apart from that though we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend others try thus hotel.

Just returned from a weeks holiday with 2 adults and 3 children. First impressions was just how busy and cramped the pool area was. Room was fine, the 3kids in the lounge on sofa beds and camp beds (their choice lol!) room was clean and super big balcony.

Food was great but no snacks at pool bar? Also pool bar was shut until 11am which meant if you had breakfast around 8am you had no drink, option until 11am.

Sunbed situation was terrible, I was forced to get up at 6am to try and get beds and people were putting them out the night before. If the hotel manager reads these reviews, why not remove all towels out before 8am and inform guests of this rule on check in???? Easily improved.

All in all a good holiday, saved by snorkelling in nearby sea which we all enjoyed rather than the pool all day.

Room Tip: High floor for a quiet room

Just got back after 11 days at this hotel. After reading some bad reports before we went I was a little nervous however on getting there at 9.45pm I was impressed. They had organised cold meals as the restaurant had closed so therefore had missed the evening meal and couldn't believe the amount of food that was presented to us. The room was lovely and clean we were 2 adults and 2 children and suited us fine. On getting up to beautiful sunshine the next day we went exploring after getting our sunbeds, which can be a problem but no more than any other hotel in the school holidays. The small beach attached to the hotel is lovely and after a day of rain yes some of it was washed away but there was still plenty of sand and the sea was a little rocky so shoes would be helpful but we managed to step our way past them. My children are 12 years old so therefore entertainment wasn't great for them but for smaller children it would be ideal. Meals were lovely always plenty of choice, salads, pasta, meat, fish dishes all beautifully served and plenty of fresh fruit and cakes and ice creams. We did have to wait on a lunch and evening meal time but 15 mins was about the most we had to wait. Staff all around the hotel were always pleasant. We ventured out a few nights to the square just across the road from the hotel which had a few bars and shops and entertainment on a night time. The hotel quietens down about midnight so again ideal for families. The centre of Santa Ponsa was about 15 mins walk from hotel but as it's very hilly we decided to be lazy and get taxi in from the hotel which cost 4 euros so very reasonable. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you have children and would definitely have no hesitation in going back.

Room Tip: We were in room 429 and weren't near the entertainment area but just across the road from the sq...
