“lovely been twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

lovely clean hotel, plenty of room for a family in the rooms we were half board and food was great variety and plentiful. Waiters were lovely got a free bottle of vino (always good!) been twice here once with my mum and dad about 13 years ago and again with my friend and was just as great. santa ponca is a lovely area this hotel is about a ten min walk to shops bars etc so far enough away but not too far. right next to beach with lovely views.
Beware of ladies offering you a rose for a euro when you go into your purse they steal your money my friend had all here money taken by these gypsy ladies and police were not interested i had read about them in the welcome pack in hotel so i was totally aware of these ladies.
this has nothing to do with the wonderful hotel it could have happened anywhere but speading the word will hopefully prevent this happening again.
If your planning on going to Magaluf or anyother areas this is a very central location for buses in all directions.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view for outstanding views.

From the minute we arrived we disliked the room. It was very bad and the pictures are much better than the hotel. The pool area is very small for the number of people around and we had to go to the beach every day. This holiday could be much better if we was in a better hotel. I wished I looked here before going to this hotel.

We arrived last week of October. Weather was ok but not suitable for swimming.
The hotel has an indoor pool but it is not open in peak season (including October).
Location is good with short walk to the beach. Stores are just next door.
The pool is nice but had no use for it.
Food is alright, a bit lacking in the fruit and yoghurt department but otherwise met our expectations.
Rooms are clean and general upkeep is good.
Gym facilities are below par and need improvement (equipment).
Generally we are happy with the hotel however end of October the weather is not warm enough. We spent most of our time exploring the island, hence I recommend renting a car right from the airport.
Also, in case of bad weather, there are municipal pools in the area which are nearly brand new and a weekly fee for the use of all the local pools is around €16.
It's a very nice area but recommend to come a bit earlier in the year.

1st time in 12 years that I've ever written a review on a hotel and the reason being is that I was so unhappy with this hotel. I am not a fussy person and relish any break away no matter if there are some aspects of the holiday that aren't great. Firstly we were promised by our tour operator (who were most helpfull-lowcostholidays) for a pool view on the 4th floor. On arrival at the hotel we were put on the ground foor (view of hedge). When we queried this, we were literally told to go away (very busy!!). The staff at reception were the rudest people that I've ever dealt with, honestly, unreal (room staff were very nice). For example, I complained 4 days in a row about ants in the bathroom and the kitchen, each day it was a "tut", not you again! Eventually they gave me the can of spray to kill the ant myself. The kitchen is 5ft x 4ft, this is ok if you are mainly eating out but not suitable if you are trying to cater for a family. The air conditioning marginally worked in the kitchen/sitting room and did not work in the bedroom at all. When we asked reception about this, they said it was working at its maximum and there was nothing they could do about it. One of the other things that infuriated me was the Web site, it is so deceptive, the bedroom is an ok size (beds really hard) and the kitchen/sitting room has one couch (we had 2 kids with us) and the 4th bed is a fold-up bed (which is really uncomfortble) and when you put up the 4th bed out you can not move in the apartment. Considering that you had to queue each morning to get a sun lounger at 9am and to try and get from the bedroom to the balcony to retrieve the towels (which were drying) this was impossible without waking the kids. The amount of beds around the pool was not sufficient for the amount of people staying in the hotel. It really annoyed me to have to get up each morning at 8.30am just to have to get a bed and honestly is was like a scene out of the bull ring in Pampelona. On two mornings that we slept in, we had to sit in the bar chairs for the day. The balcony is tiny, it would accommodate 3 chairs and a table (at a push), there are no clothes horses so you have to hang all the clothes on the balcony. We used the laundrette after the first week and after 6 trips to the reception we eventually got the token to use the machine (just hasstle that you could do without). There is no kids entertainment (I knew this before booking the holiday) but I was led to believe that the entertaintment in the square was unreal. The square is huge with loads of restraunts and bars, it has a stage at one end of the square. There is a kids disco at 8pm (suitable for 2-8yr olds -same ding dong every night but ok for that age group), then at 9pm there is a tribute band (not great) each night. The same band is repeated the 2nd week. This is my honest opinion of the hotel, we met a few people that have gone back to this hotel each year as it has the reputation of being the "best" (would hate to see the others) but I would say that 95% of the people that we met were dissatisfied with the hotel and would mainly the same greiveances as ourselves

Room Tip: apparently all the rooms in the hotel are the exact same (despite the web site), but I would try and...

Good location. Stayed in October for 4 nights. Would not like to stay there during the summer season. Sunbed around pool were uncomfortable. Rooms need upgrading. No kettle or toaster in room but they were available to hire. Would upgrade to a sea view,

We stayed here after some deliberation on where to stay in santa ponsa. It was our first visit to the area. I wil not be returning to this hotel. The bedroom door had a hole where it was kicked in , tv had cigarette burns on top and beds were like sleeping on a board. To say this was a three star is being very generous. Its dated an let go. Its grand if u just want a basic place, no frills and plan on spending all ur time out and about! On a plus side the staff are helpfull and friendly.

All the other reviews are spot on, the hotel is a great location but needs updating! The beds in some of the rooms are extremely hard, and that's from someone who sleeps on a firm bed at home! The idea of the power going off to the fridges is ludicrous, we had to throw loads away! The kitchenettes are extremely small with the only cooking facilities being a 2 ring stove and you have to buy absolutely everything, even salt and pepper! On the plus side, the setting is perfect, especially if you book a 'see view' room, the views are quite spectacular from most of them! The pool and patio area is lovely and well maintained with loads of sun-beds and tables to choose from! The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are toasters, irons, hairdryers etc available to hire for a small charge.

Room Tip: 'Sea View' apartments are the best, not side sea view. The delux ones have a much bigger ba...
