Stayed here before so knew what to expect but must say was 2008 was here last and can fairly see the difference level of standard just wasnt as high before we went said all the rooms had been renovated which I dont believe we had mould in the grout in the bathroom our fridge had some lovely stains an the door was all broken, it didnt affect our holiday an sounds small was just disappointing. the food was good just a bit monotonous by the end of the week, staff couldnt been more helpful was disappointed beach club was closed as i had been looking forward to this. Prices wherever we went were expensive thats y I think not as many uk visitors alot of polish, russian, french visitors. a good holiday an perfect weather!

I had high hopes for this hotel, I have stayed in quite a few hotels in Salou in the past on a budget but when I paid out for this hotel I was expecting a good, but not perfect 4 star. We arrived in reception to one member of staff behind the counter. There was only one couple in front of us but we waited for over 30 minutes before we could be seen. The lady behind the desk was fine and was doing her best but one member of staff isn't enough soon as 2 or 3 groups turn up together.

The hotel grounds are kept well; it does have a nice feel to it. The areas around the 2 huge pools are nicely themed and kept to a good standard. The rooms were meant to be refurbished this year (2013) and either ours was done in a rush or has had a very hard life. It was a little grubby here and there with dust and other people’s hairs about. The bathroom had the usual mould around the sealant. The beds were huge but uncomfortable, one half had completely collapsed in the middle and was obvious when we walked in the room you could see it wasn't right so nice of the maintenance crew to pick that up... The aircon also did nothing, it came on but very little cool air came out.

The worst thing about this hotel and the main reason for the lowish rating was the food. It was absolutely awful. I've never paid so much for such tripe. First night we did the dinner buffet, the bill came to 70 euros and it was just terrible. 70 euros for hotdog sausages (which were cold) and chips?? Come on! Everything on offer was cold, dry and mostly inedible. On another night we tried the "tapas bar" ha!! The restaurant looks lovely but mini cheeseburgers and chicken dippers is not tapas. Patatas bravas was fried potatoes with burger sauce squirted on them, 7 euros for 4 chicken dippers with tomato ketchup and the mini cheeseburgers.... well my partner couldn't eat it and I’m not surprised. Shame on your Port Aventura! The other things to note were service at the bar was pretty slow, you were sometimes ignored and there’s no entertainment unless you have kids.

The hotel booking included entrance to the theme park which works out well as you can come and go as you please. The free shuttle bus came to good use too! Overall we had a good time and would stay again if a good deal was to be had although unless included in your booking we would stay away from the restaurants on site!

We have been to this hotel twice this year and would not hesitate to go back! The hotel is lovely, accommodation is comfortable, food good although dinner should start at 6-6.30pm not 7pm staff helpful.

we took my 9 year old primarily for the theme park which was fantastic , we stayed at hotel Caribe which surpassed our expectations. Having read lots of reviews on trip advisor I agree with some comments raised - a top floor room is preferable as some noise can be heard above, none of the units are more than a few minutes walk from reception. Also you can leave your bags at reception if you arrive earlier than 3 pm which is when you can get in your room, we took some swimming stuff in a rucksack and went straight to the pool or you could go up to the theme park. As for the several comments on lack of entertainment in the hotel - you have a massive theme park 5 mins by shuttle away which has shows day & night !!! Also fireworks nightly at 11 and some of the bigger rides are also open till this time. Both pools were lovely but we preferred the non sandy one as this seemed a little quieter , also as mentioned plenty of sun loungers always available. If travelling with first choice as we did you receive an express pass for the theme park rides which makes for 5 min queues although we found as the holiday went on that if you spend the morning in the hotel or a trip into salou , come late afternoon the normal queues reduce to 20 - 30 mins . Food in the hotel was nicely varied & some theme nights. Like all parks food is a little pricey but with unlimited access you don't have to eat in the park. After a few days in the hotel we were not getting up early enough for a time slot for breakfast - a visit to reception and our cards were promptly changed. Evening meals in the hotel can be changed for a voucher meal in the park - we did this and enjoyed fantastic burgers in the western restaurant near the steel bridge - well worth a visit. We saw several shows in the park but my son's favourite was the bubble guy in the Chinese section.. We have yet to experience America but Shambala & dragon Khan were two of the best rollercoasters we've been on. Although I did see quite a few young children to get the best out of this type of holiday I feel it suited slightly older children. I would happily recommend anyone to this hotel & theme park as it was our best holiday to date and I could not find a single thing to complain about.

Room Tip: Always ask for a top floor room

We stayed here for three nights. This is one of Port Aventura's hotels. It’s outside the park but there is a shuttle every twenty minutes.

Rooms are clean and spacious but ours had a few problems such as a faulty tv and safe deposit box. Rooms are located in building blocks over a valley around the reception but it’s a bit of a trouble if you end up staying in one of the distant blocks.

Customer service was unacceptable as they had real trouble assisting English speaking visitors.

Hotel has nice facilities such as two large pools with white sand, indoor swimming pool, gym and Jacuzzi. Unfortunately there is no room service for food and internet is only available at the reception.

Breakfast is very rich but we had to pick a different breakfast pass for every day (from whatever passes were left at the time) that only lets you go to breakfast at a specific fifteen or thirty minute interval.

Just like the Park, the hotel gave the impression that it was only partially operating. All outdoor snack bars were closed and only 2 of the 3 restaurant were operating during our visit. One of them had an overpriced buffet of €24/pp (so we didn't try it) and the other restaurant had a very limited overpriced menu with very basic tapas and meals like hamburger with a sausage and an egg, fish and chips etc. Food was precooked and always arrived at our table 3 minutes after we ordered it.

Spent a week here in September 2013 with my family and enjoyed it immensely. Room wasn't that big, but adequate for us. Stayed half board and so glad we did! Breakfast and dinner was brilliant. Top class food and fantastic staff. The only down side was a small maintenance issue in the kids club play park, but nothing major to moan about.

There is an outdoor pool and indoor one, but we only used the outdoor one. It was clean and well maintained. Lifeguards are there at peak times. Our shower was broken when we arrived but was fixed within an hour of being reported. A free road train takes you from the hotel to PortAventura. When we stayed it was running every 10 mins which was useful.

I went with two friends just last week and we had an amazing stay. 2 nights with breakfast included cost us 100€ each. It's a bit expensive if you don't really want to go to PortAventura and so I wouldn't recommend it unless your trip is mainly focused on enjoying the park. Since the tickets are included, it is a great bargain. We were about a 10 minute walk away from the park, and since the tickets alone would cost us 89€ each for the 3 days we went, we couldn't have gotten better.

We arrived at 12h30 and were immediately checked in because our room was ready for us. Staff was very helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in the "Jamaica" building, ground floor, with a view to the pool. Very nice room, with all the essentials. Very quiet. You do hear the neighbours a bit and we had the misfortune of having a noisy child next door, but nothing that bothered us to great lengths. Breakfast is varied and nothing ever seems to run out. At check-in your are asked to choose which hour you'd like to have breakfast, I believe it opens at 8 and closes at 10h30. You get a card which serves as the room key and also as the ticket to the park, and you get to keep it once your stay is finished. The pool is clean, plenty of sunbeds, and constantly watched (usually by 2 lifeguards). Wi-fi is available at the reception, you can take your laptop there if you need to surf the web. There is also a souvenir store on the reception floor with a good selection of the items available at the park. Woody Woodpecker and Winnie were around most mornings to entertain the little ones.

We spent most of our days at the park, which is a 10minute walk. If you don't feel like walking there's a little train which takes you there, they are always going by. The city is a short walk as well, and we always went there in the evening looking for somewhere to eat and to take a look at the shops. Buffet dinner at the hotel was for us quite pricey (24€ per person per night) and so we never dined there.

I definitely recommend Hotel Caribe, and I'm also looking forward to someday have the chance to try out the park's other hotels. I really love the place and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it, so I do hope I'll return one day.
