“Great Holiday!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

Just returned from a week long stay at this hotel/apartments and am really depressed being home :( we stayed in the apartments, i had emailed them a few months ago requesting a room with a pool view and when we got to our room we could not have been any happier, balcony was HUGE!! We were over looking the pool with the ship in it and could see out to the ocean, we were delighted! Bat staff at this complex are friendliest of all they were so nice :) animation team also great :) food and drinks can be a bit expensive though, i drink WKD which was 6euro a bottle in the hotel bar so i was buying it in the local SPAR it was only 1.90 a bottle here and drank these when we sat at the pool in the evenings for the shows and the staff never said anything! Would love to return next year please god it was brill..

Room Tip: request a room with pool view a couple of months before heading over!

My wife and I have just returned from a 7 night stay here and I have to say that despite the glowing reviews on here I still didn't expect it to be as good as it was, particularly at the low price we paid for the whole holiday.
On arrival, we had to wait until 2pm for our room (arrived at 12) but this was not a big deal as we were able to leave our luggage and lie by the pool for a while. The room we were given on the bottom floor was probably not as nice as the other floors but it was still very nice, spotlessly clean and a good size. The balcony was very private and overlooked the entranceway to the hotel.
The food was excellent throughout the stay but as is usually the case on holiday it got a bit repetitive towards the end. Plenty of choice and great variety, thankfully not all 'english' food that you find in other hotels with some great spanish dishes.
The pool area can be quite noisy with kids and the animation team, but they do a great job and is extremely family friendly. There is a supermarket onsite, a spar around the corner and another supermarket further up the street. The spar is probably the most expensive but as we were half board we barely spent any money the entire trip.
As others have stated, the buses stop right outside the hotel and give easy access to Salou, La Pineda, Portaventura etc.
Something that may prove useful to travellers looking to relax in their room from time to time is the option to alter language on the tv. A lot of other reviews mentioned that there was only one english channel, however when watching digital channels there is an option to change the language on programmes dubbed from the original english. Plenty of popular shows like Family Guy, Big Bang Theory etc, and a channel showing english kids programmes which may be handy for those with kids. Just press the buttons you see an option labelled 'idiomas' then change the language.
Overall this is a great hotel, great value and we had a great holiday

Just spent 7 days at this hotel, it is amazing. We asked for a quiet room away from the pool, and the room they gave us was perfect, didnt hear any noise at all. Room was spotless, cleaned every day. We went on a half board basis, and breakfast and dinner were excellent, so much to choose from.Only gripe i have is the entertainment which doesnt start till 10pm. We would have dinner then go sit in the bar and have a quiet drink....quiet it was not....out of control children running wild and jumping on a very noisy empty stage resulting in us turning in early and forgoing the show.. Must say Bee Gees tribute act was very good, but must have been so soul destroying standing up there singing and loads of kids running around...im not against children but at 11 at night they should be tucked up in bed. All in all a very good holiday even though my other half slipped in the shower and broke his arm. Dont use reps to book your trips use PLANA BUS they are half the price booking kiosk at hotel next door. We shall return but next time we will take our rubber bath mat with us!

This hotel is absolutly amazing, could eaisly be a 5star. I want to go back! The rooms are lovely and clean, and also very big, even for those who are only going as a couple! I had a view over the pool, which was lovely because you can sit on your HUGE balcony and watch everything going on. (the balconies are huge) The animation team are brilliant, of all the holidays I have been on, by far the animation team here were the best! Every day there is something going on, and every night there is something going on, and every day the entertainment is different. All the staff are friendly and will happily stop and have a chat with you, and I did not come across any member of staff that was rude, they were all really helpful. The pools are very clean and safe, and there are lots of sunbeds around so you will never struggle to find one like in most places, and there were always pool games and water aerobics to join in with. There are also jacuzzis on the rooftop if you want a bit of quiet time, which are really relaxing. The food is served like a buffet style, it was a bit repetitive at times but there was always something for anybody, even chips for the fussy eaters. Yes this place is in Cap Salou, so if you are going to moan about having to catch a bus into the main centre, they don't book this holiday! But the buses are cheap, and run regularly so it wasn't a problem for me. There are lots of day trips you can go on, I recommend the jeap safari, its a once in a life time thing. All in all, a brill holiday and I will be returning.

First, the position of the hotel. We knew it was in Cap Salou and this is a small town but we really did not realise how small, though there is an excellent bus service available which as many reviews have mentioned you buy a ticket for about 14 euros which is valid for 10 journeys then you top up the card 10.70 once your first 10 journeys are completed. You only need one card per family and you just swipe it once for each person. However, as this review is more about the hotel, this is where the negative ends. For families this hotel is excellent. We stayed half-board and the food was of a good quality. Plenty of excellent fish and a type of paella each day as well as meat, veg and salad. There is also a separate children's buffet available if the standard fare is not to their liking. The hotel rooms are of usual standard, a bit cramped for 4, but flat screen tv, large furnished balcony (ours was directly overlooking the night time entertainment which finished around midnight and was not too loud on the couple of times we retired before it finished). The hotel entertainment, especially the children's clubs needs a special mention as they work tirelessly to keep children entertained and really look as though they enjoy it themselves too. The hotel is very clean and the swimming pools clean and of a great size, never too full. The water temperature was not the best in the early morning but it warmed up as the day went on and the pirate ship is great fun. There are always more than 1 lifeguard on duty at all times as well. The hotel is quite self-contained with a couple of bars, laundry, pool bar with lunch time food and supermarket, which yes is more expensive than one around the corner from the hotel but it's only what you expect. A can of beer 50 cents, water the same as well as soft drinks so no complaints from us. You pay a bit extra for the convenience as it's very near the pirate pool. We used it a lot. The only complaint we would have is that the showers in the rooms had very changeable temperature, but a good flow! Oh and don't forget to try the rooftop sunbathing area with a couple of cold-water jacuzzis for a bit of quiet time. Enjoy!

Just returned from a week stay at the H10 Med Villiage and i can honestly say this hotel is AMAZING!!! Could easily be rated a 5 star. So clean and organised. Staff friendly and happy to help with queries. Waiting staff around the pool do an amazing job keeping all holiday makers happy and work long hours with a smile constantly on their faces. Pools are out of this world, not a fight for a lounger like some hotels as there are so many and 3 pools to chose from. Travelled in a party of 6 with 2 children aged 11 and 5 and they were never bored. We spent alot of time by the pool and playing pool and air hockey. The entertainment for children is fantastic and they do a brilliant job keeping the children entertained with daisy games by the pool at lunch time and shows at night. My daughter cried at the realisation that she wouldn't see daisy again :( The food was buffet style and we did struggle on a few evenings to find anything that took our fancy but there was always gorgeous puddings to gorge on! Breakfast was nice and they had english sausage 3 mornings which pleased the kids! A tip for the evening is buy the large bottles of water at 2 euro 40 cents each, we had 2 bottles which was enough for 6 of us and cheaper than buying cola or squash. Drinks at breakfast are included in the half board price. This really is a lovely hotel and we were so sad to leave, it is not very often i could have broke down in tears when the taxi pulled up! A 10/10 family holiday and we would recommend to anyone. Rooms very clean and spacious with comfy beds. Balcony a great size and we had a pool view perfect for watching the evening entertainment from when the kids were tired. Entertainment does go on until 12 o'clock so pool rooms are a little noisy but who wants to go to bed at 9pm when they're on holiday!? The hotel is in Cap Salou, not Salou as the brochures say. Cap Salou and Salou are not as close to each other as you may think and Cap Salou is very quiet and not alot there. La Pineda is a 15 minute walk and was breathtaking, the beach was gorgeous and has recently been modernised and has alot of shops and bars.
