“Brilliant value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2009

Brilliant hotel. Stayed over October half term.
Nice clean. We had a room on level one just above restaurant.
View over to Port Aventura.
Food was good, something for everyone.
Staff were welcoming and happy to help.
Both pools were nice and clean.
Short walk to Port Aventura, beach and old town.
Only problem was air conditioning switched off through whole of hotel. Was muggy all through hotel. Made sleeping a little uncomfortable but could leave patio door open. Great hotel would definitely return again.

We had 2 rooms ,adjacent as requested.school week mea t hotel nearly full. liked the extended times for brekkie,up to 10.30 and dinner up to 10.food as expected .liked the guy cooking in front of you .would not agree that food was cold as per previous reviews.rooms very clean, maid every day .Best for us was the bus service to Port aventura .(bought tickets of e bay and used no problems) .bus took us up and was there to pick up at designated time. Also took us to beach .Indoor swimming pool a bonus given the weather.Free wifi used in reception only but huge bonus given internet 10 mins 1 euro.Pint was 3 euro, wine better value at 2 a glass .agree not a 4 star but with the extras and good entertainment i would come back .seven of us stayed for £730 half board. great location for park and beach 10 mins.touchdown tours did a great transfer deal.

First of all, this holiday is DEFINITELY not a four star hotel. This is verging on a good 2 star, or a average to bad 3 star.

I don't even know where to start on the list of things that were wrong when we went there. First of all, we were given the wrong room and had to wait a night to be changed. And then when we were finally given a new room the key failed to work several times meaning numerous trips back and forth to the reception to acquire new ones which sometimes STILL wouldn't work. In both rooms we didn't have a properly fitted shower stand as well. I also noticed that the room was never cleaned thoroughly as I still found items that were obviously rubbish still in the room. The walls are also very thin, you can here people talking, having a shower and using the toilet. And for a hotel that caters for British people quite a lot there were only two English speaking channels. Although a holiday is not meant for just sitting in your room on the days of rain when there was nothing else to do it would've been nice to have the option to watch something, especially since there were many French, German and Italian channels.

Upon arriving in the new room, I witnessed a disturbing view from the balcony overlooking the hotel and into the surrounding area. Although I do not wish to get into details about it, when I reported it to the staff they did not seem at all bothered and said that they would tell the lifeguard to watch out. I only saw the life guard once in my entire stay there, and thats when there was no one in the pool. In a situation where I felt that they should've called for extra security they informed me that only at night times were there guards around the area.

Then, we experienced problems with the air conditioning. It wouldn't actually work, and when it did it decided to turn on the heating leaving us confused as to why it was so hot in the room. The next morning we woke up to experience nothing but boiling hot water, which could've been potentially dangerous if we hadn't tested it out beforehand. We had to travel down the hall into an unused room just to shower as the maintenace didn't arrive until later in the day.

The buffet was average, although a lot of food did not have cards to say what it was or what it contained to the dismay of my partner and some members of his family as they are allergic to certain food stuffs. The quality of the food was also average although the food station where a chef was present was quite nice. At dinner time buffets, drinks weren't included which could add on up to another 11 euros for just a family of four, wanting one drink each.

The "authentic British pub" was abismalt oo. The drinks were overpriced and the food was disgusting. Greasy, tasteless and not cooked properly. And when I happened to order a cheese and onion burger I was informed it was just a cheeseburger, in which the cheese and bun were bigger than the burger.

Prices in the vending machine were expensive, and often they didn't work. Whenever we tried to visit the disco bar it was closed, the activity room was equipped with 4 things to do, one of which didn't even work. To play air hockey was a waste of time as it was up to 2 points. This place was severly disappointing although there wasn't much else to do for in hotel entertainment.

There are some very friendly and helpful staff there, but overall the front of house staff were rude and it seemed like a hassle for them to help us sometimes.

Overall I would never come back to this hotel or recommend it to anyone I know. This type of holiday obviously appeals to some, but for me the experience was horrible. It was so bad that we actually spent a night in Barcelona because we couldn't bear being in that hotel. The hotel we did visit had four stars and actually did live up to that standard and more.

Salou as an area is nice, but try and find somewhere else to stay unless you want a really no thrills holiday.

This was our first vsit to Salou. We were welcomed upon arrival by very friendly reception staff. Our rooms were spacious and very comfortable with a view of the adventure park. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels given every day. We were half board and the choice of food was excellent, especially for breakfast. The only complaint we had was that the food was not always hot. We learned to watch for the chef putting out freshly made food to get it while it was hot.
The hotel has a free bus which takes you to the beach and collects you again later. We only used the bus once as it was only a ten minute walk to the beach if you went out the gate at the back of the hotel. There is also a train, which takes you round Salou at a cost of 3 euros.
Entertainment staff were very friendly and we had a lot of fun taking part in the games.
The hotel is immaculately clean and only 11 minutes from the airport by taxi (29 euros). We had a great holiday and are looking forward to returning next year.

Just got back yesterday from 2 weeks in this hotel. It's clean, it's not far from the bars and shops, it's adequate but not in any way a 4 star hotel. The rooms are adequate but a bit old fashioned. Our room had a broken glass mirror sliding door, which is pretty dangerous I would think! The bathrooms are pretty small too, but you can't fault the cleanliness of the room. However, for 4 days out of 14 we had no hot water, and the maintenance guy thought very lukewarm water was sufficient! Following this, for 2 days we had no water at all, hot or cold! Is that 4 star quality? I don't think so. Food wasn't too bad at all, but again, veggies beware as even the choice of vegetables had ham in them! Dining room staff and bar staff were nice, and the pub inside the bar was quite unusual. Outside pool area was fine, but you had to buy those horrible swimming caps to use the indoor pool, so we didn't bother. The kids playground was really quite old and not that much fun for my 6 year old. The children's pool was great, as it was really shallow and he could paddle in it. Staff on reception were really unfriendly to be honest, to english and spanish alike so we weren't left feeling discriminated against. However there were lots of spanish people in the hotel, and it was really noisy at times. We hired a car and had to pay to park in an underground car park, as we were in Salou at the time of the RACC rally and parking around the hotel was a nightmare.
This hotel is just average, and I wouldn't honestly stay here again, because I prefer 4 star hotels and this really isn't one. It's not awful by any means, but I like a bit of luxury and quality when I am on holiday and this just doesn't quite do it for me.
