“would go back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012 via mobile

myself and my boyfriend booked through icelolly.com, wanting a cheap, and cheerful holiday.. We arrived late at night, with the bus driving not being any help. he dropped us off out side a metel gate, with a buzzer on the wall and drove off. We thought we were in the wrong place! We buzzed all the numbers, to try get in, and thankfully we did. Walked round to the reception, which was very small. No one there, so we rang the number on the window, no answer, rang the door bell to the caretakers room, no answer. At this point we were both worried and scared. After maybe 30-45 minutes of ringing and knocking, the caretaker appeared. He's the only member of staff... Followed him up to our room and he showed us around. Turns out our apartment was three floored! Including two bedrooms and a roof balcony. Wow. We were impressed. Finally went to sleep and woke in a much happier mood.. The care taker is very friendly and made converstaion with us and even spoke to us every time he saw us. There is a train line right out side, but hardly any trains run through the night. The walk into town is a good 20 minutes, but the walk along the beach will make you forget how long. A supermarket right across the road and lots of little cafes and shops around. On our last day our flight home wasn't til late so we asked for a late check out and there was no problems.. We would definitely go back. After a scary and worried start the apartments and caretaker made up for it, wasn't his fault we arrived late and he had fallen asleep. Best holiday.

We arrived at the apartments in the am ,we was told he would check us in in 2 hrs which became 4> there areno facilities to use whilst waiting to check in or after you have checked out!!room was relatively clean but we did find a dirty pair of knickers in the wardrobe. beds in living room were very uncomfy my friends ended up bringing sunloungers in . there was not enough bedding or towels.
the cleaners child plays in the pool and is a very ignorant child deliberately swimming infront of people so they can't get in he pool
locally the beach is lovely an the shops are never ending .enjoyed my holiday here but wouldn't stay at these apartments again

I visited the Salou Centre Apartments in June and was very impressed. Upon arrival the reception was shut and is only open between the hours of 9am-2pm and 6pm and 10pm. fortunately the caretaker was very kind and checked us in and took us to our room during his time off. You are also required to pay a 150 euro deposit upon arrival.
I was travelling in a group of four and we were only given one key for the room and were told there wasn’t another one available. This was a disadvantage of the hotel as the key is needed in the room to operate the electricity as well as being needed to gain access back into the hotel through the front gate not to mention needing a key to lock or unlock the hotel door. The apartments were very clean, tidy and well equipped (dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, two bathrooms). There is an extra charge for the hire of a kettle, toaster or iron. We were supplied with a lot of towels for the week although we were required to buy more toilet roll as there wasn’t any spare rolls left in the rooms. You are also expected to empty your own bins which requires a walk to the bins next to the supermarket. There is no safety deposit box in the room although there is one in reception to leave things in at your own risk. The apartments are located next to a railway station which is handy but also very noisy and most of the trains pass very loudly although I failed to notice them at night and did get used to the noise after a few days.
The apartments are in a good location, with a supermarket just across the road and the beach and shops just a 10/15min walk away. There is plenty of sun loungers by the pool and other facilities such as a pool table. Overall I would recommend Salou Centre apartments and would return there.

We stayed in the salou centre apartments for five days. But they weren't wat we thought. The rooms were nice, clean, spacious and bathrooms were lovely. But there was no kettle or toaster. You had to pay extra to borrow these items. They also took 150euros deposit. You have to take your own rubbish bags out. Whereas every other time we,ve went on holiday there's been cleaners that clean your rooms and take rubbish away. I also think the owners are very greedy. They want money for everything. Pool table would take our euro but wouldn't let us play! 12euros for wifi.we paid 238 pounds for our stay and on top of that we paid more to use other facilities that would normally include in your price in other hotels. The location was very good. We had a supermarket, train station and shops and restaurants close by.

Family holiday with teens so we needed plenty of space, these apartments were ideal for size and location. They are in Salou old town which is a really nice place, plenty of good seaside restaurants, shops and bars, but not as brash as the tourist end which is a good 15 min walk away. Local town centre shops and supermarket are literally on your doorstep and the area felt safe at all times of day and night. The beach is a 5 min walk and the area towards the beach is very touristy but far more cosmopolitan than the dedicated tourist end of the resort which is very Brit orientated. The apartments have two car parks, indoor at €10/day and outdoor (shaded, secured and locked) for €5, I took the cheaper option which for in-town parking is more than reasonable. I would question the need for a car here unless you touring, everything is on the doorstep and we really didn’t use the car much at all. The station is a 5 min walk away if you travel by train. The trains run close to the apartments but really did not prove an issue but then I live fairly close to a rail line and like trains. The apartments (all have aircon) are very big, we booked a 3 bed. Large lounge with TV and sofa bed with American diner kitchen and island, dishwasher and washing machine. There are two full bathrooms, three well sized bedrooms. Note that bedroom 2 & 3 are a good size but they only have a single bed in each, twins or bunks would be much better. All rooms have a huge balcony/terrace but three of the apartments are duplex style and do not have a big balcony space. The outside and communal spaces are well maintained and the pool is very nice, it is smallish but there are only 14 apartments sharing so it never gets busy and there are more than enough sunbeds to go around even at the busiest times. There is free WiFi its range is limited (very slow connection in room) but fine by the pool or reception area. The manager and his wife live on site 24/7 but they do have dedicated working times. Everything we asked for was done with no issue and they were always happy to help. A few niggles. The kitchen was excellent but poorly equipped, a decent set of pans and knives would have sorted this. The rooms do not have a safe deposit box, this is a must for travel insurance issues. The bathroom showers could do with a makeover, fully working and clean but a bit tired.
All things considered the apartments suited us very well and we had a good time, the apartments are in an excellent location and are comfortable but a bit more functional than homely when compared to a private rental.

On our arrival at 11pm the caretaker/receptionist requested a 150 euro deposit which took us by surprise. We delayed payment till the next morning as we weren't sure if it was a 'dodgy' request.
I speak Spanish so was able to read the signage in the reception. To keep it brief, the apartments are rented mostly by Spanish people as living quarters not a holiday destination. There have been breakages etc so the Building Management now request deposits from all guests, returnable upon leaving. We paid up but managed to haggle down to 100 euro, there was no issue in getting it back when we left.
We were pleasantly surprised at how clean, spacious and bright the apartment was. There were 2 of us but strangely we were allocated a 3-bedroomed apartment which had 2 bathrooms and a large living/kitchen area. They are self-service so there was no housekeeping during our stay but this was fine as there was a dishwasher, washing machine, broom and mop provided in the apartment.
It is within a short walking distance of the shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. Directly opposite the apartment is a supermarket, aimed at Spaniards not tourists so the prices are reasonable. The kitchen in the apartment had most things you need to knock up a meal but there was no kettle.
The taxi journey from the airport is around 10 minutes. We were overcharged - do not pay more then 20 euros for your journey. For our return to the airport we took a bus from the nearby 'Plana' bus station, this cost only 6 euros but does take 40 minutes as it has several pick-ups.
The disappointing thing about our stay was the noise. There is a level crossing approximately 250metres behind the building and approaching trains sound their horn. The patio doors were not double-glazed so we could hear every train. In addition there was a cockerel on the neighbouring land who's cock-a-doodle-doing went on all day. There were also several dogs in the vicinity who would have a barking contest each night. It may sound petty but we just couldnt get used to all this raquet and I didn't get a single good nights sleep.
There are no staff in the building apart from the caretaker who also acts a receptionist. Your room key also accesses the main entrance but you ony get one. There is no gym, business centre or restaurant. These are basic self-catering, self-service apartments.
If you are a Smartphone user or travel with your laptop, you may want to make use of several of the nearby bars and restaurants which offer free wifi.
We booked this last minute at a very reasonable price so were not expecting much but in the main we were pleased with our choice. If you are happy to take care of yourself and won't miss hotel luxuries such as room service - this place is fine.

Got this place as part of a deal a UK travel company was offering. 200 euro per night for this modern apartment that slept 4 +1 and free admission to Port Aventura for each night you stayed there.. we had a super time and when you factor in the park admission it was unbeatable value. The AC was very strong, the broadband was free and the local farmers market had wonderful food. The pool was small but lovely and the care taker Enoque very helpful. The beach was a 5 min walk.... the train did wake us up pretty early but we weren't there for the lie in anyway so we didn't mind.
