This review is based on our one visit to Benalmadena pueblo on a rainy night in February in search of tapas.
We took a taxi from La Carihuela, Torremolinos at a cost of 16 euros. The first tapas bar that we went in was OK and we were given a small tapa with our wine.
The next bar we went in we were not offered a tapa. We went for a walk around and called into another bar and ordered two wines, again no tapa.
At this point we were hungry so the next bar we went in we requested a tapa. We stayed for 3 in this bar.
When we asked for the bill it was 18 euros. We were shocked by this, having paid a 1.5 euros per wine and tapa usually, so expected a bill of 9 euros.
It seems that from our brief and unscientific survey that in Benalmadena pueblo you don't get a tapa or if you do the price is double. Realising that the same experience could be had for half price at many of the bars that Arroyo de la Miel has to offer, we found a taxi and left ( 2.2 miles - 7.5 euros).
