“Happy Holliday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We had a wonderful holiday, the hotel was spotless and staff very obliging, nothing seemed to much trouble good sized room overlooking pool, on upper floor. close to park and beach and a nice walk along prom to marina.
Only one minor thing was the food was never very hot,( but have experienced this before in Spain ), may help if the plates were warmed, but a good selection and very good and efficient head waiter and waiters.
would go back to this hotel if holidaying in Benalmadna.

Room Tip: We had a room on upper floor overlooking pool, lovely outlook, nice and quiet no traffic noise.

We stayed at the Las Arenas for a week in October. The hotel is of high standard & the rooms reflect this with a modern TV, comfty beds & a nice bathroom. The food is of good quality & the wine is a reasonable price. The staff are kind & helpful & nothing seems to be too much trouble. The enterainment is great & definely worth watching. Its a friendly hotel in the centre of the resort which is about 20 mins walk to the Marina along the promendade, past the Marina you can carry on to Torremolinos along the promendade. Also the palmona park is about a 5 min walk which is a must. There are plenty of buses that go through the resort taking you to Torremolinos, Malaga, Milas & Fuengoria to name a few.
As per previous reports - there is a mini market around the back of the hotel, which is great for water etc. Also a happy hour in the bar between 5-6pm, which we took advantage of most evenings.
There are a few negatives such as: no kettle or cups in room, the shower towels are on the small side & the pool is too small along with surroding area. We never used the pool as it in the shade in the afternoon & the sea was only across the road.
Overall we had a great time here & would recommend this hotel & stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is on the 5th or 6th floor, to get the views without having to get another lift...

Been here loads of times, hotel is great, and staff are very freindly, love the area and the hotel is right next to the beach, could not be better, lots of great sea food restuarants, 20 minuets from the airport..

Room Tip: Majority of the rooms have sea views. Some of the rooms on the lower floors next to the pool suffer...

We visited this hotel last week for the first time, and were impressed how clean the room and the whole hotel was. The room was comfortable and we both slept well, our balcony also enjoyed a sea view.

Though I would agree with other reviews that the food is good, it was somewhat limited in range of choice for vegetarians, that said there was plenty of salads and cheeses. We also enjoyed the choice available at breakfast time.

The location of the hotel is good, it is easy to get buses to Marbella, Mijas etc.. also the bus fares are really cheap. We enjoyed walking to the marina area as well as the park near the hotel. We also spent time on the beach which was lovely.

We would also recommend that you go to the hotel bar at happy hour which is between 5 - 6 pm , where we enjoyed 2 for the price of 1 cocktails, the champagne cocktail was particularly nice! Hope you enjoy this too!

All in all we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed staying in this hotel which we found to be of a high quality and we also enjoyed fabulous weather.

visited Las arenas for the second time,Cannot fault this hotel .The food is excellent & there is plenty of choice .Staff are friendly and efficient nothing is too much trouble .The hotel is kept very clean & there is entertainment every evening. Will return again as there is lots to do on that coast .

Room Tip: Rooms at front of hotel are noisy because of the main road.

This was a return visit by me, but a first as a married woman...and my husbands first trip to Benamadena!

The hotel and grounds are spotless. The room we had seemed big enough and had lovely big bath with shower over it! Fine as most hotels now only showers and sometimes its nice to have bath to get feet clean from all that sand!!

Location is good, central yet not at marina etc where I imagine its noiser and I like the seaside views! It only short walk to marina etc and Pallma park is beautiful and a 5 minute walk away!

The staff on the whole were ok. We found bar staff bit aloff and the main waiter a bit rude, there are no signs to tell you to wait to be seated so be ware! even if there is nobody to show you to your seat you must wait. The food was ok! bit repetitive and fatty! We liked the salads and trying the cheeses but i was tempted to go out for a meal..we didnt but did have a burger at macdonalds one lunch time which seemed less greasy and meant we just had a snack in evening!! So I think food could be better!

We liked benamadena. I know comments about shops being closed etc but its not unlike a high street here and giving Spains finances probably a sign of the times! its not true spain but just easy holiday for us looking to see the sun, we not seen much here in scotland this year!!

We went to gibralter which is a strange place really...but its family history so..

not sure if we would go back as not sure could endure ryanair flight again!!
.
