“basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

the rooms are basic,no kettle for that early morning cuppa,no fridge to keep water cool or make ice for drinks, the TV did not have any English program only news, the breakfast was cold most mornings, too many hen +stag parties booked in at once also school parties, not impressed at all.

Room Tip: do not ask for poolside or garden as that is where the bar is and gets quite rowdy at night.

Dear George,
Thank you for choosing our hotel to spend your holidays. Hotel Palmasol does not have fridge in the rooms but we rent them if you ask it at reception desk. We regret that you didn't know that we offer that service among others. We will try to advertise it more.

Regarding your comments on breakfast, we have a hot buffet with a variety of dishes. We have four heating plates devices that are checked to keep the proper temperature. However we will check if there was any problem during your stay.

We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns and we hope to take the opportunity to serve you again.

the hotel is in a good location the food was ok the satff were great especially the entertainment team. the problam when we were there is that the hotel had taken a blocked booking of over 200 Icelandic youths who took over the sunbeds and the outside bar at night they were very arrogant and ignorant so this spoilt some of our stay but as i said the staff are great and helped to make it a good stay

we were initially very disappointed with our room, very basic we had to pay £300 to upgrade to a suite . lovely views over the marina but still quite a dated room although very spacious. 2 double beds in bedroom and a large comfy sofa bed in lounge area bathroom had a new suite with double shower. food was what we expected it was plentiful and good choice. lovely gardens and no problem getting a sunbed. I would just say only go for a standard room if all you want is a bed and a tiny bathroom. you would really struggle with kids in those rooms.

Room Tip: get an upgrade unless your a group of friends that just want a bed. noisy if you have a poolside roo...

Just returned from a weeks holiday at The Palmasol. Great hotel, brilliant location but .... 250 20 year old Icelandic Students!! Such a shame but we tried not to let it spoile our holiday but around the pool and outside bar you could not get away from them. However, the food was very good plenty of choice and Paco and Carlos in the restaurant were really friendly. Our room was cleaned every day with new towels so no gripes there. As other reviews have stated you could not get a sunbed around the pool as the students took over as well as the bar at night. Once you got yourself a table you could not turn around before they took it and made it "their space". Also not nice to find yourself in the "ladies" surrounded by young girls being ill at the time, no wonder really when they were being served two large glasses of vodka, peach snapps and sangria on each trip to bar!! As far as the hotel is concerned a very good 3* and yes I would return to this hotel but before booking would check to see if they have accepted a large party of students first. Hopefully the management will learn from this and think about their future reputation.

Room Tip: Corner rooms very spacious and have large balcony with pool view (room 449 excellent)

Just returned 5th June 2013 from 10 night stay. Have stayed before & enjoyed holiday.
Very disappointed at being sold a family holiday to find sharing it with 240 teenagers.
I have no problem with young people but at this number it is not a family holiday.
Complained at the time but what can happen?
Noticed on a previous review manager commented on a good review would like to know what the management have to say to all the people who have complained & the others who have said never again to this hotel.
One previous review said they would avoid the dates late May-June, but you need to ask this management what do they intend for the future. How can any guest feel confident what sort of holiday they will have?
What was a good family hotel is being spoilt even staff seemed fed up at what went on, is this
18-30 holiday or family? they do not mix

Lovely hotel in a great location just a 5 minute walk to the beach and the marina. We were all inclusive and the food was edible, though nothing exciting and there was plenty of it. However, don't go expecting Al a Carte dining. The staff work very hard and are very pleasant.

The downside to this hotel is the block booking of 250 Icelandic students, who over ran the place and became very rowdy at night. Forget about using a sunbed as they were queueing up at 8am to claim their beds!

Nice hotel and good staff, but let down by rowdy students. :-(

Room Tip: I would book a room at the front of the building chance it would be quieter than room overlooking th...

From all my previous reviews it is obvious that we love the hotel and the staff. We have just returned from what began as another lovely stay but from 29th May noise levels increased and it became impossible to relax due to the arrival of so many Icelandic students. On our last night in the room opposite we were kept awake also by a large group of Spanish young men drunk and slamming doors etc. This is such a terrible shame as the hotel is lovely, brilliant hard working staff, decent food, high standard of cleanliness, friendly and welcoming. The end of May seems to be the time to avoid now in future. We are returning in the Autumn and will continue to stay there but wish the management would give consideration to those of us who love it so much and realise that short term financial gain from filling the hotel with out of control students is not worth risking the reputation long term and therefore putting off tour operators and regular guests.

Room Tip: poolside rooms get morning sun front rooms afternoon sun
