Just come back from 3 nights at the H10 Palmasol, have to admit that after reading some of the reviews on here I was a little wary to say the least however being fair as one other review has mentioned, there is building work going on right by the hotel but there is in all of spain.

The hotel itself could do with a little updating and is probably a bit old fashioned compared to some of the other places on offer, however for location this place can't be faulted, if you turn left and go down the hill about a 5 min walk and you are in the centre of the Marina, stopped in the Torrebaque last year which was 5* and amazing, the only problem was the location which meant taxis everywhere, so my advice would be you can't have it all; either book elsewhere for 5* luxury or opt for this place for "servicable" but I must add clean rooms and have the right location.

Would I go back? Probably not in all honesty as stopped at the Alay a few years ago which was a bit better in standards so would give that another go, but we got a great deal on the Palmasol at £40 per room per night so have no real room to grumble, u really do get what you pay for here...

Have just returned fromm 5 nights at this hotel, having previously stayed there 3 years ago.
Hotel is situated on a corner, with apartments being built on what was previously a derelict site. On booking in at reception, we did ask not to be given a room overlooking the building site, but due to hotel being crowded, had to spend the first night in such a room. Didnt feel comfortable having curtains pulled back or sitting on balcony, due to workmen being on site from 8am to 6pm. and could see directly into rooms. Having spoken to reception, were able to move to room overlooking gardens, pool and with a sea view. However, as there is also a large empty apartment block opposite the front entrance to the hotel, heavily strewn with rubbish, and completely unboarded, did not feel comfortable or safe with surrounding area to hotel.
Only had b&b but dining area is a bit muddled;as there are several different areas that food is laid out on, people had to wander backwards and forwards to get drinks, cereals,rolls or hot or cold food in a small crowded area, although the dining room itself is quite large.
The main large bar and seating area is closed for unknown reasons, friends were staying at the Alay hotel close by so we used their bar. There is a small bar outside, with tables on the outside patio area but it does feel cramped compared to the inside bar we had been able to use on our previous trip.
Generally feel the hotel is dated, most of the staff were rude and miserable and would not recommend this hotel now; much better on the previous trip, and has deteriorated greatly since then.

14 of us visited the PalmaSol H10 hotel for my Stag Do on the weekend of 7th September 2007 for 2 nights.

The rooms were clean, great pool and plenty of sun loungers.
Poolside bar and a hotel bar which did burgers, toasties, etc Beer was pretty cheap.

The only downside were the influx of old codgers, it looked like a Saga destination!

The hotel is well placed, located 5 minutes walk from the Marina, with plenty of bars, restaurants and the the only strip club we found.

5 mins in the opposite direction is the 24 Hour Square, bit cheesy, bit pikey, but as with all of Spain, buy one drink get 2, plus free shots.

All in all, I'd recommend the hotel, it suited us down to the ground.

we just come back from this hotel 10th -17th sept after being doubled booked at the siricoro.only found out about atfer getting email 2 days b4 we left.read reviews on here and was quite worried,but when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a nice lady at reception.our room on the 5ft floor over looked the marina,yes there was a derliect building in front of us but there was quite a few in the st,yes theres a hotel being built at the back of the hotel but again theres a lot of building work going on round spain.the lifts are small but what do they want to do in them?it took myself and husband and both cases comfortably and we aint that slim lol.the room was a typical hotel room, plenty of storage space and was clean again yes the bathroom small but unless you are really huge there aint going be a prob like i said b4 we aint that slim?the maids cleaned it daily leaving fresh towels.the pool area was nice and kept cleaned.the loungers were taken quickly but saw ppl this morning at 7oc scuttling abt with there towels while we was waiting to depart.the staff wernt rude but brisk and efficent making sure tables were cleaned and made ready for waiting diners and always spoke to me when i said hello.if you treat them how you like to be treated then you wont have any problems but click fingers or whistle at them and you will be treated rudely,the food was plentyful and hot with nice salad selection and hot foods.the puddings were very nice.dont book trips through reps theres plenty of cheaper places to book,we went to seville it was long day and you only got to go to catherdal,i was hoping to see more of the city,the catherdal was lovely but when you seen one you seen them all.our guide was translating in four different langauges so it got a bit tedious,granada was a better trip in my opiopion anyway,yes if you want to find the faults with the hotel ie cld do with lick of paint etc then you will find something to moan abt,but if you treated it like us we had a week in the sun.off work no dishes to do and beds to make then yes you can have a good holiday staying in the hotel. evening entertainment typical holiday camp stuff,but plenty of nice places out side hotel.chesires over the road was a nice relaxing place and few of us from hotel met up and drunk lots of wine lol,thats why i prop slept well at night so the noise from the local kids going to 24 hr sq didnt worry me to much lol.all in all we had a good holiday and our ages are 46 and 55,to old for 24hr sq, but not old enough for horlicks and still can have a good night out, and mix well with ppl all ages.also the hill isnt that bad but then we from devon so used to hills.but it is in a good postion for marina beach etc,
