We went to this hotel on the advice of the travel agent as our original choice of hotel was said to be near building work.
We were in fact surrounded on all sides by building work, not too noisy too early but who wants builders, their noise and dust when you are trying to relax around a pool. We specified evening entertainment each day, there was only entertainment once and that was of dubious quality. The food whilst quite edible was very monotinous and repetitive. The bar staff are excellent but the reception staff unhelpful and rude. The room was clean and serviced daily. Overall I would not visit this hotel again, the overall level of service compaired to other hotels of this rating are quite poor.

My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying at this wonderfull and friendly hotel, Staff, Food, and accomodation was very much above average. Our room was on the fifth floor " 522 overlooking a outdoor covered swimming pool, of which being senior citizens we did not use. Building work to the rear of the hotel is nearing completion, a little noise on working days but no problem, but to the front of the hotel, I was led to believe an underground car park is in its early days of construction and pile driving " can be very noisy " during the working day, fortunately for us being winter it was after eight in the morning before they started work. Two days before leaving our wonderful accomodation it was a local bank holiday 28th February, and we were very unfortunate to be invaded by some of the most misbehaved and noisey children I have ever met , this unfortunately was the only moan I had to a very pleasurable stay at a very nice hotel . Highly recomended for a Holiday but avoid Spanish bank holidays.

our family of 5 with children of 15mnths, 3 and 6 plus inlaws stayed at this hotel oct 1st - 12th 2007, it has been refurbished to a good std, with rooms being cleaned, bed linen and towels every day inc sundays, staff very friendly. Food was fine but wasnt labelled at all, so it was guess work, had fish fingers, chips etc for kids.

there is currently 3 blocks of apts been built, but the noise didnt affect us at all, there were plenty of people taking photos for possble claims etc, but it was nonsense, we never thought for one minute - that noise is unbearable.

However, it is slightly situated up a small but graduating hill and my father in law who had heart bypass 6 yrs struggled a bit at night. the main marina resort etc is a very good 15min walk along beach front and even for our 6yr old we couldnt go there at night as we only had 2 buggys and couldnt carry him home, you can get the 110 or 120 bus into resort from the main road at bottom of hill from hotel for 1 euro 10 cents each but they get packed and dont accomodate pushchairs very well.
there is a fab british supermarket just around the corner from hotel and a karaoke bar called cocos which serves worthy and strongbow on draught, and the pub opposite la ladle serves john smiths and both family friendly showing ll the latest sports on sky etc.

lastly, the hotel allowed a group of approx 50 youngsters approx 18-20, they took over the pool and spoilt a lot of peoples holiday with their language and attitude, the prices for this hotel are very attractive but sometime as this occasion, attracted the wrong people.

would probably not go back due to distance fo children. r the main attractions with little ones - did lose a good few pounds walking back and for everyday,

Hotel Los Patos used to have beautiful landscaped gardens around it but now huge blocks of apartments have been built on the gardens. The large pool has been replaced with a small pool despite the hotel still having the same number of rooms. I would not return to this hotel.

If you like British bars & restaurants serving John Smiths bitter then this is the resort for you. If you like to sample a bit of real Spain, it is hard to find it in Benalmadena.
