This was an Intervals International exchange. The accommodations were minimal, our 1 bedroom had 2 narrow beds more like cots that were barely comfortable, but photos we saw online showed a full sized bed. There were extra charges everywhere. All timeshare owners know about European electric charges. The deck chairs were chained. There was a charge for the safe in the room. We had to leave a deposit for a second key. The indoor pool was considered part of the health club and there was a charge of 15 Euros a day.A lthough we were told we could use WIFI, no one knew what the password was. To his credit though, the game room bartender did get it for us. TV had reruns such as old BBC, Miami Vice episodes. Nothing current. I mention TV because there was nothing to do.
The staff was really wonderful and helpful. We hopefully requested a wake-up call without a phone in the room, but our doorbell rang on the dot.
To reach the beach from the hotel you had to go out the front, down the hill to the road, around the corner. As to the area, the smell on the beach was not from seaweed it was from fried takeout. The beach was unappealing. It was very hilly and the attractions needed car or long bus rides. we took a tour of touristy Mijas, which was pretty and by luck stopped for pizza at a restaurant owned by Italian expats, the pizza was better than you would get in Washington DC (our home) and fresh gelato. Otherwise it was tourist menus all the way.
Full disclosure, I got sick on the trip and wound up in bed for 3 days, defintiely clouded my attitude, but tried to give a realistic appraisal of the Kingfisher Club.
