“right place for shopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

This is the right place for shopping in Germany. It is a short drive from Stuttgart and around 200 km from Frankfurt. There are plenty of brand name shops like Escada, Bally, Joop, Hugo Boss, Bogner and etc. Environment looks nice. Several parkings available and normally you can always find a free space. It is worth to go if you are interested in shopping.

“It really is the whole city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

The entire city is made of shops. It's not like any outlet mall I've ever seen in the states. It's crazy! It was about -5degrees C on the day we went, and there were people everywhere. We of course checked out Hugo Boss and the surrounding stores. We didn't leave with tons of shopping bags but it was a lot of fun to walk around and look at all the designer clothes. For us the prices seemed pretty steep compared to outlet malls in the States, but from what I've seen in Europe these were some good deals.
My only complaints are- It didn't seem to us that there were many restaurants nearby. Parking is kind of a disaster. People smoke right outside the doors of the shops.

“Great shopping experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

The whole town is a shopping area - from low end to high end stores. We followed the direction going to Hugo Boss and parked at S. Oliver's. It was Saturday and was packed. We only went to 5 stores - Esprit, Bally, Fossil, Lindt, Oakley... Esprit was having a great sale - skirts for 5 Euro, pants for 10 euro and 15 Euro for dresses - so if yo don't mind the crowd, you could really get good deals here... If you know what you want and have an idea of the prices this is the place to go shopping... keep in mind that the sale season in Germany is January and June or July...

“Wonderful shopping experience with helpful people.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

There are a few outlet areas in the city of Metzingen, just pick the one with Hugo Boss and you won't go wrong. Arriving at the train station, it would be preferred to walk through the city toward the outlets while admiring the architecture of the place.

Most brands have their own small little shops, whilst some big buildings have individual brands per floor. Please ensure you know the going rate of the item you are about to purchase as some items cost the same if purchased at a departmental store.

Naturally, the highlight of the entire area is the Hugo Boss outlet shops. They have individual buildings for different items. The Orange items are cheaper at these stores, with shoes being the best buys. Naturally, do not forget to browse through the suits as Hugo Boss suits are about half the price when found elsewhere. Do not forget to claim back the VAT should you hold a non-EU passport.

The people are extremely friendly and helpful. I am deeply touched that a lady walked up to me and offered help whilst I was looking at a map for directions. She walked with me for a bit until I couldn't get lost, then she bid farewell and went back the other way. She was actually travelling opposite her intended direction. Kudos.
