“Lovely, restful facility, with amazing breakfast choices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2014

This delightful small hotel is located in a very small village near Regensburg, so I was not sure what to expect. What I found was a spotlessly clean, comfortable "apartment" (like a suite w/kitchenette) and modern, smoothly working plumbing and appliances.

There is a typical german cafe-style restaurant onsite with a small outside beer garden. Breakfast in the morning was served down the hall in a different room, and was amazing. Fresh fruit, selection of freshly baked breads, sliced German-style meats and cheeses, juices, as well as American-style bacon and breakfast sausages, scrambled eggs, etc. The real gems were the cured salmon and wild berry jams.

I was booked into this hotel by company travel department, and it was hosting several businessmen. However, I saw one or two happy couples and a play area for children. They have a fitness facility and apparently full massage services, etc. onsite. My overnight stay was more designed for a balm for jet lag than a self-indulgent getaway, but I may return for such one weekend before I leave Germany.

Room Tip: The apartment was great, but overkill for an overnight stay. I would get it again if I was sightsee...

after driving almost 900 km, this hotel was a nice welcome after all the hectic traffic. The hotel lies in a small sleeping village, nice, quiet and peacefull. Our room was big enough for our needs, it was clean, had a nice goodworking shower and good beds. The food was simple but delicious, and the service was good too. A very recommandable hotel for a good price. Next time we'll travel to Budapest again, we'll definitely stay over at this hotel again.

We stayed here after completing some work at Hohenfels and loved it! The room was quiet and had excellent furnishings. The blinds made the room blackout which was awesome! The shower is a little small but worked great. The breakfast was outstanding! The choices were amazing and the tastes were wonderful. The staff was friendly and spoke broken English. The restaurant was very tasty although a little expensive. Overall, great value!

Take the train from Munich here and get a taxi from the station!

Looks like another family run hotel.

We had a big apartment for a family of three. There was no AC but in mid July it was still cool here. Lots of flies in the area (I didn't see many cows though) if you leave windows open.

The whole apartment is suited out with nothing but Ikea stuff. We love it, but those with more refined tastes may suffer.

Next to a Catholic church. Church bell strikes every quarter. Not audible if you keep windows closed.

Free wifi, but requires a different account/password per device. Seems to be a common practice in Germany that creates unnecessary administrative burden and costs on the hotel proprietor.

Good stopover point when exploring southern Germany.

We were quite dissapointed after reading all the good reviews. We were on the second floor, right under the roof. There were loads of flies all around that kept us awake (and we were given nothing to kill them with) and it was very hot in our room. There was no fan or airconditioning and if we opened the window, more flies came in and we were woken up every 15 (!) minutes by the church bells. They sound once for every fifteen minutes and on the hour they sound the hour ( so at 5 AM they sound 4 times for the quarters of an hour and then 5 times for the time). No problem with the window closed, but that was far too hot.

Dinner was served in a very empty room, not really Gemütlich (cosy).

Wifi was a mess, we kept losing the connection.

Positive points were that the place was clean if you don't count all the flies, working flat screen. And the food that was served tasted good, the breakfast as well.

Room Tip: It must be a better place in winter. And if you go there in summer, aks for a room on the first floo...

We spent one night here and were happy that it was just one night. The man who received us was friendly, a bit hasty but nothing annoying. Our room on the other hand was a disappointment; it had a musty smell and when we wanted to cook some water it appeared that both the pans and the coffee machine in the kitchen of the room weren't clean. The beds are not comfortable; you can feel the springs of the matresses. We also had breakfast at the hotel, which also was an unpleasant experience. There were flies everywhere: on the fruit, the meat and the cheese. Very nasty. We were glad when we left. The price for what we got was very high: €82 for one night, breakfast included.

Spent two nights in this hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, comfortable beds. Continental breakfast was good. One thing good to know is the reception does not operate 24 hours, so arrive early is recommended. Overall, I believe this is the best hotel you can get in this small town and I would recommend others to stay.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, do not choose the room facing the church because the bell rings every ho...
