“Great restaurant and excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

Yesterday we had dinner in the restaurant of Hotel L'Ours Blanc and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food tasted very good and it also looked very attractive. They have a large variety of drinks on the menu, so everyone can choose something of their own liking. After dinner you can take a relaxing seat in the cosy looking bar next to the restaurant and play a game of cards (ask for the cards at the reception desk). The service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating, without coming over as being fake. When we walked back to our appartment in Les Menuires 1850 one of the waiting staff left at the same time and showed us a very helpful shortcut, thanks again!
So overall we would recommend L'Ours Blanc to anybody who wants to have a nice evening out at a good restaurant!

I had to write a review once.....this is for the 8° time I stayed in this hotel in winter. The family who run the hotel do everything possible to make you enjoy the stay in their hotel. Superb location, very nice and always clean rooms, the best service you can imagine... The barman enjoys his job and is fantastic, the food is made with a lot of love to make your stay more special, the terrace is magnificent in nice weather, .... I can only say to you : if you want an unforgettable ski - time once in your life : go to the "Ours Blanc" in Les Menuires, and enjoy the chalourous days with the Casali family and staff !!!

I have just returned from a ski trip with my son.
Having arrived at the hotel at midnight and being presented with the room key, it was exciting to find that we had been upgraded. Ski passes were waiting for us.
Margaret, the co-owner (her husband is the other co-owner), greeted us personally by name the following morning, not having met us previously.
This personal touch was typical of all the staff. The chatty barman knew names and room numbers. Reception staff, waiters and waitresses greeted everyone with a warm smile and engaged with guests. They also remembered personal dietary preferences. Food was of a good standard. Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the lounge relaxing. Everything is well thought out and all runs smoothly. There is a large terrace to sit out on after a long day's ski and to knock back a cold beer.
Although the hotel is normally ski in / ski out, conditions were such that this was not possible. So, the hotel organised an efficient delivery and collection shuttle service to the nearby slope (only 800 metres away), to save having to walk in boots.
There is a ski hire shop close to the hotel.
This is very much a hotel-based hotel. There is little in the village of Reberty and Les Menuires has little to attract. However, if you are looking for a relaxing time in a great hotel at a reasonable price, you are not going to regret staying at this hotel.

This family business is ahead of the game as far as customer satisfaction is concerned. Margaret Cassidy has run this wonderful hotel (with Spa) for 20+ years, assisted by her husband.
The attention to detail is remarkable: noted in the quality and creativity of the menu, the eagerness to please and cheeriness of the team of staff, and not least in the beautifully interpreted traditional interior design. Throughout the hotel you will find touches of magnificence like the specially commissioned hand carved Ours Blanc standing 6 foot or maybe more which greets you on arrival at the entrance lobby.
The loving care which Margaret has invested in this venture is evident at every juncture: her presence as 'front of house' provides guests with all they could possibly require in terms of engagement, local charm, knowledge and experience.

And the food, well, it truly is divine.

If you require a mid-sized hotel which is fairly close to the piste: no more than 30yards to ski off, which works hard to provide a top-notch experience in delightful, traditional surroundings THIS IS THE ONE TO CHOOSE.

We stopped here for lunch 3 times while in Trois Vallees. It must rate as one of the very best Alpine lunching spots and that is said from a wealth of experience. A stay at this hotel is anticipated and having spoken to Margaret the omni- present owner, it cannot fail to be a delightful experience. Highly recommended.

An excellent adress on all aspects!!
I have been to a few hotels over the past few years and this hotel clearly offers the best value for money!Excellent location right on the slopes , spotlessly clean and nice accomodation! It was the second time my husband and I have spent the week of 26 december till 2 january, and we hope it won't be our last!On arrival the staff and madame Casali intstantly made us feel very welcome and we discovered the very warm and cosy interior, very nice decorated for Christmas...Some furniture in the saloon seems to be pretty recently refurbished.
The room has wireless access to the internet-wich worked perfect and satisfied my husband -and a flat screen TV.
The food is also excellent and we enjoyed very much the afternoon coffee and pastrys that were offered on Newyears day!The owner and his son are both working in the kitchen and you feel the meals are prepared with love.
The restaurant has an excellent wine list for a reasonable price.
This year my husband was glad to discover the bar also had 'Duvel', one of his favorite Belgian beers.
Our room on the second floor ( number 203) was OK, but room 208 we had last year was a little bit better located because it offered a nicer view and was on the south.
We will be definitely come back next year and can advise everyone to book this hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The owners and the staff were very friendly. The rooms had a nice balcony, very good beds-what isn't always evident in France- nice television, enough space, well equiped bathroom.
The ski room was excellent with many lockable heated cabinets. The restaurant very charming in traditional chalet style, the food prepared by the owner-chief and the tablecloths always spotlessly clean.
The owners , a French/English couple, are very kind and charming and do everything they can to make you feel at home. There's a daily fire in the fireplace.
The hotel is situated on an excellent location right on the slopes at 2000m. So, what could we wish more?
We surely want to go back to the hotel next year. There's only one problem: we are not the only ones and we have to hurry to book a room.
