right in the middle of the slopes, very causy appartments, superb spa with many private saunas and a nice pool. there is everything you want in the resort. the ski rental shop is at the rst, so you can rent before your arrival and eveything is waiting for you when you arrive. you can also buy the ski pass at the reception.
we will be back next year... great for families.

Room Tip: rent a big room if you are a family as the 1 bedroom is small..

Have just returned from our ski holiday and stayed in Hauts Bois for a week. We booked with Crystal and chose an E1 room, for 4 to 6. We are a family of four but wanted a bit of extra space. On check in we were offered a one level or split level apartment, we chose split level. We had two bedrooms, one double, one twin, each with windows and doors, unlike other reviews! The mattresses were brand new and incredibly comfortable. We had two bathrooms, dishwasher and very up to date furnishings, it was really lovely, comfortable and well equipped. There was also a good sized lounge/dining area which meant it was a great place to return for lunch and a bit of a relax before heading out to the slopes for the afternoon.

The staff were very friendly and efficient and we ended up getting our breakfast and baguette order from reception each morning as it was competitively priced. We also borrowed a fondue heater set for free.

The ski lockers were large and safe and we could ski straight from the hotel to the chair lift which took us to ski school. We hope to return next year as La Plagne is such an extensive ski area and Hauts Bois is in a great location and is a very easy place to relax whilst on a fully active ski holiday.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 32A on the 10 th floor

We stayed here with a group of 4 people and got a 6 to 8 people sized apartment. Allthough we arrived early at 10AM (and check in time is 4.30PM) our apartment was already available.

The hotel has a nice atmosphere. Allthough its a big complex, they've succeeded in creating a cosy feel to it. The rooms are fine, allthough one room doesnt have any ventilation and has a curtain instead of a door. The well equipped kitchen has a dishwasher as well.

We would recommend staying in this hotel.

We spend our ski holiday at this residence as always in the last 6 years, but now I am not sure to continue this tradition.

This was the first time that we go in a group of 6 adults (my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my girlfiriend and me). In november we reserved a 3 bedroom appartment with bigger space and according to the official description for 6-8 person. (3 bedroom with 2-2 beds and sofabed for 2 in the livingroom, bunkbed possible for 1 bedroom). After reservation I call them that we are 6 adults we would like to avoid bunk beds, they said they will try it. Two day before our check in them call me, that we will have bunk beds, because all the appartment without bunkbeds is reserved.... interesting, but at least they called me. In this case we planned that that 2 of us will sleep in the sofa bed.
We arrived, check in was ok, we got the key very fast, then we surprised. There was 2 normal bedroom and 1 with bunkbeds (wich is incredible, that the room is enough big for 2 normal beds!!!!). The strange was the sofa bed because it was for 2, but not the same level for 1 on the sofa, and for 1 on the floor!
I ask the reception to resolve my problem, but they told me that there is full house so they can not help. So finally we took 2 matress to the bunkbeds bedroom, and 2 of us slept there on the floor all the week.
The other thing all the appartments has ski boxes, also we had one, but it was too small for our equipment, so just to see clear the skibox of 6-8 person apparment was small for 6 pair ski and 6 pairs of boots. So finally 2 of us needed to take the boots and the ski up to the apparment.

So we spend almost 2000 euro for accomodation one week and 2 of us slept all the week on the floor, and we need to take with us the skis and boots up!!!

So this 3 bedroom appartment is ok max for 4 adults and 4 little children!!!!

The other problem is with the insurance of pierre et vacances, we bought the sport and leisure pacage.

My mother had little accident on the slope her hand was injured and we were at doctor to do xray and some inspection. We spent for this 180 euro.

I called the insurance company to resolve this problem, they gave me an email wich is not working, so the only option was to send fax to them. Only fax in 2013!!!:)) Now we have case number, they now my email address, they got all the copies of the documentation, but still nothing happen and the only way that you can communicate with them is phone. So now I am thinking not to spend more time for this incurance case, because finally my roaming fee will be more then 180 euro:D:D.

So I recomend for everybody to avoid pierre vacances incurance, because now it seems it is for nothing. Maybe for local people is OK, but not for foreiners.

So finally I write some positivities too:
-sauna, swimmingpool, hammam
- bread service
- nice appartment interiour
-own garage (60/week)

Room Tip: Always divide the maximum persons per appartment, so if you rend an appartment for 4 people that is...

This place has some great features mentioned in other reviews. We stayed on 5th floor in a premium 3 bed apartment and were very disappointed with the bedrooms. One room had a window into the corridor - not very practical for ventilation at night or when out skiing. The other had no window at all or a door for that matter. It was curtained off from the rest of the apartment and technically we think this might make it an alcove rather than a bedroom. An otherwise perfect holiday was spoilt by a stuffy night's sleep for some in our party. We even tried leaving the balcony door wide open all night, but that did not help much either. Speak to reception before booking your apartment.

Room Tip: Check which floor the apartment is on and if the bedrooms have windows.

We rented an apartment which could accommodate 5 adults. It was small, but we are used to this as we have rented ski apartments for the last 20 years. The service at reception was very good. We got into our apartment as soon as we arrived, and it was a joy to have beds already made up, and with decent duvets rather than the blankets you get in some places. The building had a laverie (laundry) which was easily accessible, and the ski locker room gave enough space. There is direct access to the slope, a blue run but not the easiest of blues, so I don't know how a beginner would cope.

For us it was ideal. It was easy to get to the shops for our food, but most of the time was spent on the slopes, and we skiied the whole area, including some of Les Arcs, in the week. We would certainly recommend Les Hauts Bois.

Room Tip: Ideally you should avoid having to use the sofa bed(s) in the living room. This probably means gett...

Apartment 35B on the sixth floor sleeps six: two bedrooms, one ensuite shower room, separate bathroom and toilet, large living and kitchen area. The couch in the living area has a pull-out double bed. Large, south-facing (over the car park) balcony gets the sun from morning till about 3.30pm. Perfect for two adults and two children, but I wouldn't want to be in a party that had to make use of the pull-out bed.
Ski-in, ski-out from the ski room on level –2 is about as good as it gets. An earlier reviewer claimed it wasn't for beginners. I disagree. Once you pop your skis on there's a well-skied (read a bit icy) 30m track to the learner slope and on down to a chair that connects you to the top of the learner slope and a ski school meeting point. It doesn't get much easier than that.
The Hauts Bois apartments are located just below Aime 2000, which is a pro and a con depending on how you look at it. On the plus side, it's a quiet location, away from the noise of Aime 2000. But if you plan to do a spot of self-catering, you'll be wanting to stock up with provisions. The nearest Spar is in Aime 2000, and you have to take three lifts—that's elevators, not gondolas or chairlifts—to get there. So, on foot, it takes 10–15 minutes. It's not quite getting a pint of milk from the corner shop, but not far off it.
All in all, the friendly, young staff, the apartment, the location, and the views worked for this family.

Room Tip: Strange as it may sound, ask for a south-facing room overlooking the car park and away from the lift...
