if you like your skiing and don't mind the basic comforts. Then this is the hotel for you. As you step out the door, in your gear, there are several chair lifts and routes to take you to many amazing different types of ski runs for the beginner like me to the experienced skier/boarder who loves a challenge. The sights from the mountains are breath taking as well.
As for the hotel i found it to be ok and nothing more. The rooms were nothing but basic. If you'd have liked a coffee or tea in your room, either in the morning or after skiing, your out of luck. Not a kettle in sight. The double bed were just two singles put together. Their was no extract a fans to remove smells. The wall cupboards have seen better days.
To move on the restaurant area was fine with just enough variety of foods to satisfy our needs. The view from the windows was nice. Don't expect to sit on the veranda as shown in the brochure as it's closed.
The bar and rest area was nice and spacious where you could relax and have a good afternoon or evening if you so wished. The prices though might put you off a little.
The ski staff, right down at the bottom of the hotel, were very helpful in kitting you out with the correct items
The only real down side to this hotel was the staff, although helpful when asked, were the most miserable i have encountered in all my travels. Nothing was ever done with a smile. When at reception it was though we were interrupting them and they could only just raise their heads up to look at us to ask how they could help.
Also beware of items going missing as several items of value went missing from various areas of the hotel.
The hotel is located a short walk from the centre of decent shops and bars. Don't miss Scottys bar if your there with good live music.
As i started if you like your skiing then this maybe the hotel for you as the skiing was excellent and the Terra Nova is a good place to start and finish your skiing day.
