“Family friendly restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

There were 4 adults and 2 children (7&10) in our group and we had a lovely meal here on the Wednesday evening. Theyy served the children their main at the same time as out starters which was excellent. The cost of the meal was reasonable. I would recommend reserving a table early because it gets very busy.

“Excellent food and friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

We visited this restaurant for dinner on our one 'no dinner in the chalet' night during a stay in April. We didn't make a booking and just looked around for an interesting menu at a reasonable price. When we walked in it was about 75% full, with mainly French guests. It's a classic chalet style restaurant, with tables packed tightly.

Our waiter, who seemed to be single-handledly serving all the tables, was friendly and attentive. He was really nice with the kids on the next table, and looked as if he genuinely enjoyed what he was doing (service was included in the price, so he was not doing it in the hope of a tip).

We had the pierrade, which is basically raw meat served with a hot stone for you to cook it on yourself at the table. The meat was of excellent quality and huge quantity, and came with salad and very good chips. There was a good selection of wine, including economically priced by the carafe. Tap water was offered without our requesting it.

By the time we had finished there was no room for dessert or coffee, so we paid and went to leave. As we got to the bar on the way out we were stopped by what we assume was the owner and offered complimentary glasses of genepi, which we accepted and drank at the bar. The owner was as friendly as the waiter and we felt genuinely welcome at La Cloche. We would definitely eat there again if we went back to La Plagne.
