“Stylish hotel in a fab resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

Lovely resort centre. Hotel and spa was fab. It's location is just a short distance from the centre so it was quiet and only a short ski down to the main lift. Skiing back would be easier if not for the end of the day slushy snow (well we did holuday later than usual!). Room was clean and well equipped. Staff helpful. No complaints just a yearning for more comfy seating around the log fire :)

I loved everything about this hotel. The location is perfect for a ski get away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had some trouble getting on the internet and they committed one hundred percent until it was fixed. They were very flexible about taking food/ drinks from the bar to the room. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The restaurant is pretty expensive for Avoriaz, but it is high end great food so definitely worth it. The spa was entirely dreamy. We stayed in their smallest room and it is cosy, but works.

I've just returned from a 4 day break in Avoriaz and for anyone considering a last minute end of season break then I couldn't recommend Dromonts/Avoriaz enough. Not sure I'd recommend the hotel for those with children as would probably go the apartment route but for a couples stay, this would be the place for me.

I loved the quirkyness and retro design. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and although it is part of a group did not feel in the slightest corporate. Suited me but perhaps the bar is on the quieter side for some. The food was great, we ate in the Festival bar twice which had a nice bistro feel. Prices were reasonable for the food however I'd say that the wine was on the pricier side, with the cheapest by the glass 10 euros. We wanted to eat in Les Enfants Terribles on our last night but decided on the Festival again as Les Enfants was so quiet.

The hotel is in a quiet area of Avoriaz but only about 250m from the main village area. The hotel staff without exception were super helpful and freindly. They'll organise your passes and ski lessons if required and add to your bill to settle at the end. Opposite the hotel is a ski hire shop and you'll get a 20 discount as hotel guests. We were dropped at the Prodains lift in Morzine and would do again as much quicker to get up to Avoriaz and cheaper on the transfer. When you get out of the Prodains lift, there is another public lift straight ahead then about 50m on your left hand side which will take you opposite the hotel entrance.

Room Tip: Not all the rooms have a bath. We had a club room so I think you'd need to go superior if this i...

We decided to try the hotel after reading about the recent revamp. Previously in Avoriaz we've done the apartment thing which seems more the norm. The hotel is good looking and very convenient to the centre of the village, especially the Village des Enfants, which is great. The interiors are retro cool but not blow your mind; personally I think faux cow hide upholstery is a bit 2004 but listen it was ok. I have to say our welcome was very good and the staff were great. We had one quite funny incident when we got back from dinner early to find staff in our room turning down the beds etc. They were very apologetic but we all had a laugh about it.

We went for a suite on the 4th floor (which was pretty pricey to be honest) and it was large and comfortable but waiting for the small and sometimes temperamental lift became a bit tiresome; I reckon it needs a bit of attention. Also the room was a bit strange in some respects...like the separate toilet off the living area with no door handle (not in a cool way, more in a not finished way). Overall it was nice though and the large bathroom was great (including the products), as was the bed.

Breakfast was included in our package and it was very nice continental style, including a (pretty compulsory these days) make-it-yourself espresso machine. We also had dinner and lunch in the Festival bar area which was pricey but very nice. Also a couple of cocktails in the bar were excellent. The main restaurant looked good and was busy but a bit much for us with our 4-year old.

I have to say though that the general atmosphere in the hotel was a bit muted. The (large) bar area was generally empty and the sunny deck area was rarely occupied. This probably has something to do with the location which is very close to town but not really somewhere you'd go unless you were staying there. The prices probably explain some of it as well. The exception was the main restaurant which seemed to attract a good number of people each night.

And finally, we used the spa a couple of times and it was fantastic - a real gem staffed by lovely people and the treatments were very good (although again not cheap). Although sort of strangely the Festival restaurant has a large window that looks straight on to the gym and spa area. We had dinner there one night (with a few other people around) and as we did some people went into the gym in their robes. They looked at us, we looked at them..all very strange...but quite funny as us and a few other tables raised a glass of wine to the gym-goers! They laughed but then left. Maybe a mirror would be a better option...although not as funny.

So overall, it was a pretty good experience and I would encourage others to try it but for us next year it's probably back to the apartment thing (and saving a whole lot of cash!)

Room Tip: Nice views on upper floors but be prepared to wait for the lift!

Just returned from 4 nights at this charming hotel. Smallish but perfectly designed rooms, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, charming helpful staff - couldn't recommend it highly enough. Only critism would be rather limited facilities in boot room - not enough boot warmers or practical ski storage - but apart from that ,just perfect.

It is almost in the center of Avoriaz just a few hundred meters away from the central street/slope. Quiet, great views to the mountains. We were on the 4th floor in a room devided by a sliding door where our baby could sleep while we could watch movies, talk and prepare for a later going to bed. It was very convenient. Design is homey and fun, the elevator is covered with cow leather.
Staff is extremely kind and a bit under experienced but I prefer that to the opposite. Food is just great. Whatever we ordered was wonderful. Breakfast is rich and the choice of bread is excellent. We would certainly return.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with a baby go for the suite with sliding door and everyone will have a good s...
