“Favourite Ibis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Over the years I've stayed at a lot of Ibis hotels in France and this is my favourite. Very good value, friendly staff, good clean rooms and somewhere under cover to park your bike.

I can't really understand people giving this place less than 4 stars, what do they expect for £50?

Room Tip: I always seem to end up on the ground floor and the rooms here have always been very good.

We spent three days at the IBIS hotel in St. Omer over the recent bank holiday. I have stayed at the hotel before. As a budget hotel it is very good. Clean with friendly staff. The rooms are small but large enough for a couple. The beds are comfortable and the bath/ shower of reasonable size. We ate lunch on the day of arrival which was perfectly acceptable and of a good quality.

In all very good for a short stay.

We stopped overnight on our way to Alsace.
Standard Ibis - well situated in the town centre. Has its own parking facility - there is a cost. Breakfast was OK, as was the room.
We would use this hotel again if we stay in the area.

I have stayed in St Omer previously in the budget Etap with work. This time around it being a social trip, i thought i would pay the extra for a little more comfort. Unfortunately the room was very disappointing. Rm 124 is extremely tired if not a little grubby. Having said that, towels and bedding were clean and the heater although, old certainly done the job. The room was just extremely dated and dingy. I have seen more pile on kitchen lino than on the carpet in this particular room. Unfortunately the toilet seat was also broken but usable.

I have however to say the staff in this hotel are superb. Extremely helpful, pleasant and polite. Also a very handy location with parking at the back of the hotel. The hotel bar is handy too and although we didn't eat, there was a limited menu.

We had breakfast in the morning which was OK but the bill sadly came as bit of a shock. An extra 7.50 to park (no mention of this on the booking) and a couple of beers at nearly 7.00 a pop each!
All in all a great location, fantastic staff but the room was pretty poor.

Room Tip: Stay clear of 124

I have been using this hotel for the past 15 years and find it very good the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble the only downside is the price is a bit steep in these climates especially since a month ago there were only 10 rooms booked on a friday night, other than this excellent

We chose this hotel for location as it was an easy place to stop over on our drive down to Italy. On the plus side, the hotel was clean and in a good central position with parking (albeit at a cost). I had checked the website for its restaurant opening times but unfortunately it was closed on the night we stayed. Fortunately there is a good choice of eateries within a few minutes of the hotel. My partner has limited mobility and despite showing a disability symbol on its Accor Hotel website entry, the hotel advised us when we booked that there were no rooms for the disabled. No problem, limited mobility meant we felt we could manage. However, I just feel that I must comment on the symbol as I feel it is misleading. The only concession for the disabled that I could find was one disabled parking space on the car park. There was even a step up on to the path and the lift was very small. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to use a wheelchair.
