“Perfect ambience for a short stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

A totally different experience from staying at a hotel. Our room in this attractive 19th century B&B by the canal was big and airy with high ceilings and a view of the garden. Our bathroom had a large tub and contemporary fittings and the bedroom had a comfortable bed and a flat screen TV (french channels only).
Veronique, our host, was charming and welcoming and it is a place we would stay at again without doubt. We had a good continental breafast with crossiant, fresh baquettes, fruit juice, jams and yoghurt. Parking is plentiful across the road alongside the canal and it is a 10 minute walk to the centre with a wide choice of restaurants and bars.
We ate at Bistro 28, a bar/bistro in the square, which served excellent local dishes as well as pizza, pasta and steak. The owner is english speaking and can help with translating the menu and recommending dishes all at very reasonable prices too.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden would be the choice for a quieter stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights Veronique welcomed us with a beer and information and maps of the town, also recommending a nice fish restaurant which isn't on trip advisor. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up. We had a room overlooking the garden which was very quiet. Breakfast was good with home made cake on Sunday morning and giant croissant , home made jam and home made yogurt which was really delicious. There is plenty of free parking across the road on the quay. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. If you are visiting St omer this is definitely worth staying in.

We stayed here for a quick overnight stop. The bedrooms are large and airy. Beds very comfortable and warm. Breakfast simple, but filling. Lovely hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
Book ahead if you want to eat in the square on a Saturday night. We hadn't, and struggled to find somewhere to eat.

Room Tip: Whilst all rooms have en-suite facilities, some have baths and some have showers. We would have pref...

We stayed here one night and really loved the place. Great views over the river from the window and really well priced.
The host was friendly and gave us some good info on the surrounding area.
We would definitely return and recommend to friends.
We managed to park across from the b&b for free too.

A brilliant welcome when we arrived (tea and all the loal info we needed), the room was gorgeous, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The B&B is situated very close to the station and only a short walk from the centre, and free parking was available outside our window. The shower was a little too powerful for the shower tray: probably needed a curtain. Otherwise a very pleasing stay.

We found this hotel through a local tourist-brochure and booked it for a single night. On arrival we were welcomed with a fresh cup of tea and we had a chat with the hostess. She immediately gave us brochures on things to do and a map of Saint-Omer. When we saw our room we were quite pleased. It was a spacious room with two double beds, your own bathroom (with a little room in the bathroom for the toilet) and a view over the canal. Even though there is a busy road in front of the hotel, the rooms are pretty quiet. You can park your car in front of the house (free).

The city center is only 10 minutes away, so shops and restaurants are close by. The train station is only a 5 minute walk away.
Breakfast is included and consists of croissants, baguette, an assortment of jams, homemade yoghurt and tea, milk and juice.

Recommended for everyone, even the smaller budgets. The rooms are only around 60 euros per night.
