“A great introduction to Balinese cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

This class started out with a tour of the local market to show us the wide range of locally grown ingredients used in Balinese dishes. The class itself lasted four hours and culminated in a sit-down lunch for all participants to sample our efforts. It was an informative and hands-on lesson that was also a lot of fun.

“Value for money, amazing food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013 via mobile

Best cooking class, value for money. Make sure to book the market option where they take you to the local market where you get to see, smell and feel the fresh produce. Easy to understand professional instructions in english. Great menus and equipment to cook with, plenty of opportunity to cook dishes. Pick up and drop off to hotel was a bonus as was the take home recipe book. You get to eat what you cook and more, we were very full! Great day out, myself and my husband have already cooked some of the dishes at home.

“Great fun and very informative”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

There were about 12 of us on the course - mixture of nationalities, sexes and ages. Started with a trip around the market where various local spices and herbs were explained to us. We then went to the class; after drinks and fruits the days dishes were explaibed to us. We then spent a period of time chopping the sauce ingredients - gloves were acailable abd there was constant access to running water. We then pounded everyhing together and took turns cooking with woks. After ecerythibg was cooked we dived into eating (there was way too much food) after which we watched dessert being made before eating.

We started at 7am and finished at 2pm. Not the cheapest excursion but we had great fun, learnt loads and took away a cook book and certificate.

“great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

The tour started very early with a tour of the local produce market. Interesting to see the different varieties of vegetables. The class was well organised and the "teacher" gave us plenty of tips on the preparation and cooking of food. We all hsd an opportunity to cook. The food tasted and smelled fantastic.

Hands on learning in a relaxed friendly environment. Not too big a class with plenty of instruction from staff. Thanks Newman for a fantastic experience. Can't wait to try the recipes at home
