I had stayed at this hotel in September of 2009. I am only writing a review now as I was searching hotels on Trip Advisor for another vacation. I wanted to comment on a few concerns with this hotel. It was very much so like a camping experience. The cabana is a canvas tent that unfortunately does not stay cool. The AC can run all day long and it will still be very warm. The only time it was comfortable was after the sun went down. The canvas walls had let the cool air escape. Also, the room was not very clean. The bathroom had stains on the walls and near the sink. The shower stall is very tight and shower curtain was also dirty. The room features a table and chairs for eating and a futon with coffee table. There were bins under the bed for storing clothes as the closet was on the smaller side. This made the room have a very college dorm like feel.
We had ordered room service during our stay. The room service food was not good and came in Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils (like ordering takeout). We also ordered a bottle of wine and received plastic cups (not very fancy). The only reason why I mention this is because it is not cheap.
Pros: The hotel is in a good location. The cabana sits right on the water and there is a balcony in your room where you can sit and relax. The views are quite beautiful. You can walk down to a small beach area but there is a lot of seaweed that washes up on the shore. They also have a sports facility on the grounds where you can rent a kayak or snorkeling equipment etc. They have a restaurant and bar at the hotel and I believe breakfast was included in our rate. It was a breakfast buffet. They also have a free business center to check your email.
I work for a hotel in NYC so I try to look at all the aspects relating to overall value. Do to the lack of cleanliness and the discomfort from lack of AC, I would have to say it was not worth the price and I unfortunately would not return. It did however have beautiful views as it sat right on the water and the sunset was unbelievable.
