My husband and I just returned from a vacation a 9 Beaches, it was wonderful. The Cabana's are comfortable and afford great views of the beautiful waters around Bermuda. We could just "roll out" our door and were on our own private beach. The main beach was also beautiful and the people were fantastic. Especially, Dana, Happy and Chef Joe. The food was great, our kids bought us the Platinum dinner on the beach, which we had on our deck overlooking the water. Happy was wonderful and the food was great! The mini bus was a great way to travel and the ferry to Hamilton was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel personnel are great and very accommodating. The facility is about what we expected. However, this is not a hotel, it is more like luxury cabin camping. We booked one of the six rooms right on the water and they are beautiful.

There are two main issues with this location

1.) All rooms turn into a sauna, getting to about 90 degrees, by about 8:30am and don't cool down until well after 11pm. The AC units they have cool the room to about 76 degrees at night and that's it.

2.) The location is far away from everything. We rented scooters and cruised the island but to get to Hamilton took at least 1/2 hr and if you took the ferry you were left to a schedule and if you miss it you wait an additional hour.

We stayed 2 nights at 9 Beaches and moved for the remainder of the week to Surfside. I wouldn't say that SurfSide is upscale but it is nice, clean rooms, great location and the rooms had kitchens. There is a grocery store right down the road where we picked up breakfast food and ate breakfast on the patio each am. We were also able to bring back leftovers from dinner and have for lunch, which is a nice cost savings.

If you are panning on renting a scooter and nightlife is not a primary reason for being on vacation, we think the best location to be on the island is on the south shore somewhere between Elbow Beach Club and The Reefs. You can get just about everywhere from there and you are close to many good beaches.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at 9 Beaches. It was so relaxing. There was no rush to do anything. The food was great and the Cabana was nice and airy. The beaches were beautiful and some were even secluded and private. Everyone at 9 Beaches was helpful and pleasant. We would definately stay there again.

We just came back from a weekend at 9 beaches and enjoyed it very much. It's fancy camping, in clean, airy cabanas, with nice snorkelling, very laid back atmosphere, no TV... away from it all! Don't expect a fancy resort because it's not, but we enjoyed the feeling of being so close to nature, the breeze through the cabana, the underwater life, sunset on the balcony .... There's not a big selection on the menu so if we stayed here for longer it would have got boring. But the food we tried (especially the salads and the tuna sashimi) was good, and the service very friendly. So make sure you get your expectations right before you go, and then you'll enjoy it!!!

Relaxing Wedding

Let me start by saying, it was the most relaxing wedding I have ever been to and I am glad it was my own. 9 Beaches is BEAUTIFUL.
We arrived on the 7th and were taken to our cabana over the water, where we immediatley put on our bathing suits and went to the water. Yes, in the afternoon the cabana's are hot. Ours was about 95 degrees when we opened the door, but it was also the hottest day of the year and there was no wind. As the days went by we realized that you have to turn off the A/C in the morning and open all of the windows and prop open the doors. Leave some of the blinds down. The breeze blows though and it never gets above 80. At night if you like, close all the windows except for the one beside the A/C, it pools air from the room to cool (the breeze helps it stay cold.) Now that you know how to cool off your room I can tell you about the service.
We thought the food was good but it was a little slow. We were never in a hurry though and we have been to other countries where the people work on their own time frame. Not like the U.S. at all, where everyone is in a rush and has to have everything Right Now. The people are very nice and if you get on their good side they will even run errands for you. For example: My sister and brother in-law had just come back from the store but had forgot their cigarettes. They asked the front desk if they sold them...the answer was no but one of the golfcart drivers said he would run to the store for them. Now if that is not above and beyond service I don't know what is. And all it takes to get on their good side is a smile, a good morning, and friendliness. If you come in to the resort and you are a grump and you are ugly to them and they get the impression that nothing they do will make you happy, then why should they try. They realize that the resort is not for everyone and there will be people that they can't make happy. My advice is treat them how you want to be treated. A little friendliness goes a long way. The taxi drivers are very nice and are more than willing to give you info. Now when you first get there, if your from the U.S., the driving may seem a little crazy but it works for them. When you plan your day outside the resort do it in advance and get a ferry and bus guide. Unless you are taking a taxi your day will have to be planned around the mostly the ferry. Which, is the fastest way to travel.
Kay-Annie was the wedding planner and she is wonderful. She will work with you on anything you wish. It is nice to let go and let someone do it for you, which I am not good at. It turned out to be everything we hoped and dreamed of and more. The resort gives you a relaxing feeling and has a beautiful back gound for pictures.
As far as excusions go we took a Jesse James snorkeling cruise and it turned out to be awesome. They take you to two wrecks, a small beach, a coral reef garden, and glassbottom over another wreck.
For anyone that is looking in to going to 9 Beaches it is for nature lovers; i.e hikers, bikers, campers, the outdoorsy type. If you are one of these you will love it. And remeber not everyone gets to explore other counties and places. BE THANKFUL
