WOW --- coming from a town that boasts its own fort (fort adams -- newport ri), this Fort/Museum was by far one of the best kept secrets of the Royal Navy Dockyard--and the cost was minimal and it goes to the up keep of the Museum --$10 an adult and children under 12 FREE!!...You first walk in to a spralling parade ground with a statue of King Neptune -- you can walk up the hill to the left to the Commanders House and have breathtaking views of all the dock yard--cruise ships --and the atlantic--amazing --watch out for the sheep--and dont forget to try and get on port tv's web cam -- oh yeah go see the dolphins at dolphin quest FREE to watch---cost $$$ to swin with them. Do not miss this , especially for the view!

“Historical Presentation of the Dockyard area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

Very comprehensive historical presentation of battles and the history of the dockyard with rooms presented in the Commissioners House with authentic furniture of the historical periods discussed.

“Living museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

As the other reviewers have said, the museum has tremendous views...if you think you are going here for a dry history lesson you would be wrong. This is a living museum. You can walk around the large grounds area and take in panoramic views of Bermuda from the hilltop. I liked watching the black and white sheep who keep the grass short. If you are wandering around the dockyard area, take the time to do this.

“Great opporuntity to learn about Bermuda' maritime history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

Great museum with lots of interesting exhibits. The grounds are historical as well and offer great views. The only downside if the heat and stuffiness inside the main building...... it was about 85 degrees outside and nearly unbearable inside. Other buildings and the basement area were much cooler. A small entrance fee is required but well worth the expense.

“Interesting and beautiful views as well!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

We have been to Bermuda numerous times, but had never visited the museum and grounds. The museum was very interesting, and we loved walking around the fort grounds. There were a group of goats that were fun to watch following their caretaker to the barn. You are also able to view the dolphin discovery area (swim with the poor creatures). I hate captive dolphins being kept for our entertainment. There was also a very large Leatherback Turtle being held in a very small enclosure. Enough of that.....In any event, the museum and grounds are a good take. Watch out for loads of goat droppings!
