“True local flavor with great food, great drinks, and great company!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

We discovered this amazing restaurant in Bermuda on a recent cruise out of Boston. We went to the restaurant for sushi but the owner (Valerio) told us he discontinued serving sushi because their was not enough demand for it. Disappointed, we almost left. But Valerio told us he would prepare us a special dinner and that if we did not like it, we did not have to pay for it. Intrigued, we decided to stay which turned out to be our best gastronomic decision of our vacation. The meal included a fresh tomato with just the right amount of seasoning, followed by conch fritters (don't pass these up), fish chowder served the local way (you'll just have to find out for yourself), and the freshest wahoo on the island as the entree - all topped off with just-out-of-the-oven raspberry pie! And, what would a local meal be without a Rum Swizzle or two? We had our share of Rum Swizzles on our vacation and Valerio's were simply the best. Not only was the food top notch but we also were treated to great conversation with Valerio and his friend Hiram. When in Bermuda, do yourself a favor and go to this restaurant, have a Rum Swizzle (or two - but only if you are walking), chat a while with Hiram, and let Valerio craft a very memorable meal for you.

“Nothing worth talking about.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

Their Conch Fritters were GREAT other than that our entrees were mediocre at best. Another over priced restaurant in Bermuda.

“Local to the core”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012

Food is good; ambience is local. Not that this is a bad thing but it is at the entrance to Dockyard and if you want to sit outside it can get a little traffic noise.

“Good place at the Dockyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2011

This is good, reasonable place to eat the at Dockyard. I would recommend lunch. It was pretty quite when we were there, but the fish and chips were pretty good. Overall a reasonable place to eat and would recommend it if you are in the Dockyard.

“Peaceful lunch on a Sunday in the Dockyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2010

We headed out to the Dockyard on a recent Sunday morning. It was hot and humid by 11:00 and TS Colin was still threatening. We chose to have an early lunch having scootered over from Smith's Parish (about 45 minutes with a couple of sight seeing detours). Freeport Restaurant is right inside the Dockyard "Gates" on the left and across from the boaters mini-mart. You have a choice of take-out or eat-in. In the first room, a friendly guy is holding Sunday morning meet and greet with all his buddies. He seems to know every one who stops in...I watch what they are ordering and take it under advisement. Two fish sandwiches, fries, coleslaw, an Amstel, a Dark 'n Stormy and the most delicious lemonade - we are quite content less than one hour later. Not inexpensive $60 but a calmer atmosphere than the choices nearby and very fresh food is worth every penny..The inside room has a (sushi) bar, sports tv and great decoration.Say hi to Pop...and check out the pies in the take out case...
