Lousy workout room if you can call it that. couple of old machines in a small room.

food and beverage staff -primarily from india and the surrounding area - very friendly and knowledgeable. rest of the staff isn't that way and we were shocked by the poor customer service attitude. bermuda is obviously a wealthy nation so these folks don't need the work.

rooms not well maintained. burnt out light bulbs, no turn down service.

place needs some adult supervision.

We just returned from Cambridge Beaches having gone to celebrate our anniversary. It had been many years since we were in Bermuda and we wrestled between staying here, the Reefs and the Elbow Beach having stayed at the Elbow Beach the last time there (which was our Honeymoon).
Cambridge Beaches was by far one of the finest places we have ever stayed. Our room was huge yet still cozy, with a very nice bath (including a tub) and a nice out of the way dressing area. Our room overlooked Mangrove Bay-I think every room has a view of the water as the resort sits on a peninsula.
Our plan included breakfast which was terrific and even allowed you to have it served to you in your room. They have a couple of nice restaurants and we really enjoyed Breezes which overlooks the beach on the South Shore-and the food was great (you can bring your own wine which I would recommend but the corking charge is still $30)
There are at least 3 beaches (at least that is what we found-perhaps there are more?) and the one that is the most romantic is a little beach that sits at the point called Turtle Beach. You may have to ask the staff how to find it and then don't tell anyone about it! (The staff is great-everyone was super friendly which really helped make the stay special).
On our last day, we picked up a scooter (at the hotel-same price as everywhere else on the Island) and rode around checking out some of the other hotels. The Reefs felt very crowded-we peeked into a room and it was small-very small bathroom. The Elbow Beach looked too stuffy and the rooms are really nothing more than hotel rooms in the big building; motel rooms in the outlying lower buildings. (We were so impressed with it last time but that was many years ago...but the beach is still very nice) The Fairmont Southhampton is nice-especially if you are going to play golf-but it is a big hotel and the beach is a trolley ride away-with lots of kids it seemed. We also checked out 9 Beaches and if you are into camping complete with rustling canvas, you will love it.
When we were still comparing, one of our friends who goes to Bermuda a lot and likes the Reefs said Cambridge Beaches was too remote which turned out to be so untrue. If you want to go to Hamilton, there a mini-bus (small van) that will take you to the Dockyards in less than 10 min for $5 where you can catch a 20 minute ferry ride over to Hamilton. You can take a cab home if you miss the bus for about $12.
The bottom line is if you are looking for a romantic getaway and don't want to be around lots of kids, check out Cambridge Beaches.

My husband and I just returned from Bermuda. We were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniv. Cambridge Beaches was a great spot to celebrate. The place is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a few different beaches that are private and very quiet. We stayed in a hotel room and not one of the cottages which looked amazing. Our room was a good size with a great balcony overlooking the marina.

The restaurant Breezes was my preference over Tamarisk. Breezes is more casual and is right on the water. You can catch the most beautiful sunsets. Tamarisk is overrated. The food was average considering the price.

The service at Cambridge is great. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It is a bit far from Hamilton and the airport (approx. 40-50 min.) away. This is costly if you want to go into Hamilton for drinks. If you go early, you can get a ferry back but if you want to stay out late it can get expensive. The best mode of transportation is a moped.

I highly recommend Cambridge Beaches if you are a honeymooner, couple or single and just want to relax. There were no young children so I don't think it is great for young familes but good for older children.

I really enjoyed it and highly recommend.

We just got back from eloping to Bermuda & it was so beautiful! We worked with Nadja from Cambridge Beaches to make all of the wedding plans beforehand & she was the best. Even over emails back & forth with Nadja I knew that we were going to have a wonderful wedding & vacation there. I emailed w/ the Reverend, photographer, hairstylist, etc. & got everything we wanted & more! We arrived there & were greeted by George, Whitney & a few of the other staff members who were all extremely friendly. If at any time during our stay we mentioned we were getting married they automatically knew knew who we were! It was intimate & friendly. We felt very comfortable there. Everyone on the grounds (staff & other visitors) were all so nice & friendly to each other. We stayed in the Turtle Cove Suite which was awesome. It was a cottage w/ big bedroom, huge bathroom & living room w/ a terrace in the back w/ a beautiful view. We were steps away from the pool, cabanas, bar & restaurant. Perfect spot-we loved the location of our cottage. The cove was just below us down a flight of stairs. The room was so clean & modern w/ robes & slippers, a jacuzzi tub, turndown service-it was perfect!
We ate at the Tamarisk & The Breezes Restaurants while we were there-both delicious! Definitely have to dress up eating at both. Breakfast was included & always good. No complaints at all on the food there!

Our wedding was perfect-we got to pick our spot to have the ceremony. We chose Long Bay Beach which is right at the hotel-just the 2 of us w/ the Reverend & our 2 witnesses (Nadja & the photographer). It was absolutely beautiful. Weather turned out great-supposed to be rainy but ended up w/ some clouds-not bad at all. Then we took photos for an hour w/ our photographer & went all around the grounds. Beautiful pictures! We had a private candelight dinner at Turtle Cove right below our cottage. Intimate & beautiful w/ Monjulla as our waiter (sorry if spelled wrong)!!! He had to go up & down that flight of stairs quite a few times & was still gracious & kind! He was the best!
The next day we rented a moped right on the grounds & spent the day exploring Bermuda.
Pool & bar area were renovated about 2 years ago. We didn't get to check out the spa but the indoor pool area was really nice. Beautiful infinity pool & beach just steps away. Bar & restaurants close early, also no children so it was nice & quiet. We felt like we were the only ones there. So peaceful. It was perfect for us sneaking away for a long weekend & getting married!
All in all, only positive things to say about Cambridge Beaches! And again-thanks to Nadja and staff for our memories! We will be back for sure!

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Cambridge Beaches and our time in Bermuda. Bermuda (and Cambridge Beaches) was recommended to us by our travel agent because it was a safe, clean, and friendly island and we found that to be exactly the case. From the second we arrived at Cambridge Beaches we were treated with the highest level of customer service I have ever received. The staff (down to the housekeepers and pool attendants) called us by name and the guest services representative (Whitney) even stopped by our table at dinner the first night we were there to make sure we were satisfied with our accommodations and to see if we needed anything.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, beautiful resort with amazing customer service then Cambridge Beaches is the place for you. It appears that they may be in the process of updating their rooms. Our room had not been updated, but was still very nice however you may want to ask that you be put in a room that has been recently renovated. Lastly I definitely recommend the MAP meal plan. We enjoyed the dine around program and found both restaurants at the Reefs to be the best. The restaurant at Pompano Beach Club was full of children and the food was not as good as the food at Cambridge or The Reefs.
