“Comfortable and modern”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

I booked a weekend break for the family for our wedding anniversary including a massage for my wife and a spa circuit for her and our teenage daughter.

The stay was very pleasant. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the golf course and padel courts with some lovely views. It was quiet and we could sleep with the terrace door open without suffering from noise. The hotel has a very quiet location anyway, just outside the town, but close enough to get there easily. The hotel surroundings are pleasant and not urban.

The hotel is modern and comfortable. Our room was beautiful, well appointed, scrupulously clean and had an enormous double bed, quite apart from the large bed-sofa for our daughter: even so there was plenty of space. The bathroom area is separated from the bedroom area allowing a private space to wash, shave or dress while someone else is using the shower in the bathroom itself.

The breakfast buffet is extensive. Not many hot options, but plentiful fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, plus cakes and pastries. There are options for most tastes and however young and picky your children are, you will find something that they will eat.

There were different dining options. The hotel restaurant is decent, without being exceptional. Its menu is relatively limited and fussy eaters will not find so many options for them. The alternative is to have a sandwich or burger in the Hoyo19 Snackbar - good quality food at a modest price.

On summer evenings, the restaurant offers a barbeque-buffet on the terrace, with a reserved seating area, while the rest of the terrace is left to the Snackbar customers. Dinner on the terrace watching the dying sun on the golf course was a very pleasant way to finish the day. Service was good, with the staff always friendly and helpful.

The girls loved the spa circuit. It is not expensive and is very relaxing. Be aware that you have to call the spa in advance and book a time: leave it too late and they may not be able to fit you in on a particular day.

The hotel has an open air pool (towels obtained via a free voucher when you check in, gowns available for hire) and padel courts. To book a round of golf, you have to go around to the clubhouse, just around the corner from recepttion - the course is nice, although quite straightforward and has a good putting green, although other facilities are fairly basic. 9 holes on a Saturday afternoon cost me 12 Euros.

The hotel was a little too modern, too stark for me. It was built outside of Aranjuez, near a highway exit, but as part of a development by a casino and near additonal buildings that appear to be setting empty, having not taken off, or to have taken off and then faltered with the Spanish economy. The entire area was all a little drab for me.
But the hotel satisfied our need for clean rooms, comfortable beds and an easy drive in and out of Aranjuez.
We were not impressed with the breakfast buffet and it was expensive.
All in all, just another hotel without a lot of personality.

A few things wrong here, to fill wash basin, tap has to continuously left on, what a waste of water, their is no overflow system in the bowl. Turn a light off from the bed, the bathroom lights go out. When having a bath, you have to get out, go into the shower cubicle for shampoo, strange, not more than one dispenser.
Having asked at reception for additional shampoo, conditioner ( it's supposed to be a four star hotel ) told to buy some at nearby supermarket. Only English TV channel, bbc world news does not work correctly, if at all

I had a large (100 attendee) meeting to organise at this hotel and came away delighted. The installations were superb: the meeting room and its set-up were just perfect. There was even the detail of a fresh, crisp apple, as well as the bottle of water on each desk. Huge screen for presentations and coffee served in a large room alongside with loads of space. The staff could not do enough to help and were absolutely fantastic. Good buffett service meals were set up and everything was beautifully organised for us.

The rooms are a delight: large, modern, impeccably clean, well appointed and, in my case, with a superb view over the lake and the golf course. The bed was huge and comfortable and would have slept 3 large adults comfortably. There are plenty of common areas and a spacious bar to sit and have a snack or a drink in the evenings.

The casino is right alongside and provided some innocent entertainment for some of our group. No big winners though... in fact, hardly a winner in sight!

Room Tip: My third floor room had a lovely view over the lake and the golf course and a really nice balcony.

Another great stay at a Barceló hotel.

You do need a car, as the hotel is a bit out of the way, but ii does mean you can visit nearby Toledo and Chinchón. Both are beautiful and only 40mmins drive from the hotel. We visited Madrid, by driving to the metro station, Miguel Hernades, where you can park for free and avoid the driving and parking in Madrid.

The hotel was under going a bit on maintenance, although this did not affect our stay. Our room was clean and well equipped, although the fittings are a bit tired, I have visited better Barcelos.

Breakfast is always very good, my rule of thumb, is fresh fruit salad and fresh juice provided, then great, the Aranjuez, does not disappoint, a great selection is available for all tastes. I did find it odd that the coffee, hot milk and hot water were self-served from thermos jugs, which did not keep the contents hot. However by the middle of the week, the expected Nespresso machine was being used!

Room Tip: The delux rooms look over the golf course and have a balcony, upgrade cost 30euro, over the superior...

Just outside the town by a golf complex. Rooms great. Beautiful interior. Breakfast was very good. Not much variety offered in the restaurant menu for the evening meal. Pool very busy. Not a couples getaway, mainly for families. We used it at a stop over just a few kilometres outside Madrid. Spa was closed because it was a Monday.
