I booked a weekend break for the family for our wedding anniversary including a massage for my wife and a spa circuit for her and our teenage daughter.
The stay was very pleasant. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the golf course and padel courts with some lovely views. It was quiet and we could sleep with the terrace door open without suffering from noise. The hotel has a very quiet location anyway, just outside the town, but close enough to get there easily. The hotel surroundings are pleasant and not urban.
The hotel is modern and comfortable. Our room was beautiful, well appointed, scrupulously clean and had an enormous double bed, quite apart from the large bed-sofa for our daughter: even so there was plenty of space. The bathroom area is separated from the bedroom area allowing a private space to wash, shave or dress while someone else is using the shower in the bathroom itself.
The breakfast buffet is extensive. Not many hot options, but plentiful fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, plus cakes and pastries. There are options for most tastes and however young and picky your children are, you will find something that they will eat.
There were different dining options. The hotel restaurant is decent, without being exceptional. Its menu is relatively limited and fussy eaters will not find so many options for them. The alternative is to have a sandwich or burger in the Hoyo19 Snackbar - good quality food at a modest price.
On summer evenings, the restaurant offers a barbeque-buffet on the terrace, with a reserved seating area, while the rest of the terrace is left to the Snackbar customers. Dinner on the terrace watching the dying sun on the golf course was a very pleasant way to finish the day. Service was good, with the staff always friendly and helpful.
The girls loved the spa circuit. It is not expensive and is very relaxing. Be aware that you have to call the spa in advance and book a time: leave it too late and they may not be able to fit you in on a particular day.
The hotel has an open air pool (towels obtained via a free voucher when you check in, gowns available for hire) and padel courts. To book a round of golf, you have to go around to the clubhouse, just around the corner from recepttion - the course is nice, although quite straightforward and has a good putting green, although other facilities are fairly basic. 9 holes on a Saturday afternoon cost me 12 Euros.
