“Good value for money but dated...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here purely for location due to an event near by. We wanted something for just 1 night. The Oasis Hotel was ok... On it's website it's described as a modern, stylish hotel but it's the opposite. The apartments are spacious but very dated... Good value for money if you are a family or group. The actual hotel was more modern, with pool, wifi (although slow) and a good breakfast. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with lots of choice. The surrounding area was really nice, easy access to Central Athens but with a very relaxed vibe. Lots of lovely shops, cafés and restaurants. We loved the local harbour and beach. Didn't expect to find it so close to Athens! I would stay here again for a cheap deal but not if you want a nice room... Ps get new hairdryers!

I didn't really have any high expectations after reading the reviews, and the hotel lived up to that! The staff were friendly if low in numbers and therefore rushed off their feet. The reception area looked nice and the pool area was great, plenty of space and a number of beds and tables, with the use of pool towels.
The breakfast area was small, and we always had to wait for clean plates cups and cutlery. Coffee pots were just taken from the last table to be cleared. There was an ok choice for breakfast, cereals, yogurt, pastries and a choice of eggs and sausages.
The room had seen better days, we paid extra for a 'superior' room but unfortunately it wasn't. We were given the room keys and found the previous occupants rubbish and dirty towels on the floor, so had to go out for a walk to wait for the room to be cleaned. There was a strong smell of stale cigar smoke and burns on the settee and carpet, even though we asked for a non smoking room. The fridge did not work, even though we reported it several times. The furniture on the balcony had seen better days, it was the white plastic variety and looked to have been repainted with the paint then scraped off so when you sat there your clothes caught on it.
On a positive note, the location of the hotel is great, there is a bus stop for the x96 straight outside and only a few minutes walk to 2 tram stops. Even though it is located on the busy road we were not bothered by the traffic noise.

After reading the previous conflicting reviews I was not expecting great things from this hotel but a friend who lives locally recommended it, so we booked two twin bedded apartments. We were pleasantly surprised by the reception which was clean and modern and the staff were polite and welcoming. We had asked for rooms overlooking the pool as we had been told about the busy road running past the hotel and were given rooms 401 and 407. These turned out to be very quiet rooms unless you opened the balcony doors, but this was to be expected. We had a lovely living area and a double bed settee (which was very comfortable and easily managed), desk, coffee tables and television, kettle and crockery for tea and coffee. (we brought teabags and milk up from the restaurant at breakfast time). The bathroom was small, which was a shame because there was plenty of room to extend it in the hall way as you entered your room and the toilet was very cosy, your legs touched the wall either side, but again it was ok. I suppose with the recession it is very hard for the hotel to spend money on some improvements but I wish them luck in the future Breakfast was varied with bacon, eggs, sausage, fruit cereal and Greek yoghurt. The toast had to go through the toaster 8 times before it browned but what the heck, no big deal. Breakfast room was clean and tidy, staff, some were pleasant, others a bit grumpy when asked a question but again, no problem.
Free internet was great and there was a printer in reception to print out boarding cards for out flight back, great.
We had such a good time out there that the little niggles were just that. Do give this hotel a chance as they deserve it.

Room Tip: Fourth floor room 401 right in the corner, excellent for quietness

The basics of this hotel were ok such as good location, in-room wifi and a large room but in general, it really needs an overhaul. There were cigarette burn marks on our carpet and sofa, the bathroom had tape holding together the waste pipe (!) as well as polyfilla in holes/cracks everywhere, and the balcony furniture had seen much better days.

You're warned as well that it is on a very busy dual carriageway so there are always cars rushing past, it's hard to cross down to the beach and there is no view.

I would say the pool is the best feature as there is plenty of space to sit or have your lounger and the pool itself is very clean and safe. There is also always a lifeguard too.

Food and drink at the hotel are very overpriced but they have you a bit trapped as you have to walk at least ten minutes to the supermarket/shops/cafes. Breakfast was included in our room but would otherwise have cost 15 euros! Food overall was mediocre, service very slow and lots of dirty things left uncollected at breakfast, outside rooms and by the pool which encouraged pigeons.

We got a good deal on this room so I sucked it up for 10 nights but it really is not 4 star (it's a run down 3 star at best) and I would not book again. If you can get it for a VERY knocked-down rate and don't want to eat there, it is handy for the bus to the airport (right outside), the beach, tram stop into Athens is 5 mins away and the busy area of Glyfada is 10 mins away too.

Room Tip: 'Pool view' for us meant facing the road which is a very busy dual carriageway that never st...

Great overall experience. Location was perfect and close to everything, rooms were very clean, and the staff service was superb. Stratos really makes you feel at home!

I had never been to this part of town before, and stayed on friend recommendation as it was close to airport. Glyfada is beautiful!!!

You will not be disappointed at Oasis!

My family and I liked staying in Oasis hotel. It had everything we needed. It is clean and the service is really good. The reception employees are friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. Ours was overlooking the pool where we enjoyed a dip every time we had a chance. The breakfast buffet had a variety of choices for every taste. It is 5-minutes walking distance from Glyfada Shopping area. The bus stop opposite takes you to all the lovely beaches in Voula, Vouliagmeni, and Barkiza. In summary, the good location and service make it a very good hotel for business or family trips.

Room Tip: Rooms in the 2nd or 3rd floors overlooking the pool and NOT Posseidonos Avenue are quieter.

We stay there for 2 weeks and it was very pleasant sea vacation at Athens. Hotel was very good choice for value, have great swimming pool and breakfast was excellent. AC, Wi-Fi, and TV was always available. Although it stated 4 stars, you can count it as 3 stars hotel (in my experience you can generally reduce it for most hotels in Greece), due to the conditions of rooms - old furniture, floor carpets, curtains, kitchen accessories. Hotel is obviously renovated on reception-ground level but not the rooms.
Nevertheless, we enjoy a great time around swimming pool and appreciate Management politeness.

Room Tip: Room on pool side are quietier and have a nice view.
