4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

We stayed at the palace hotel on our return from a cruise in August. We were only there for one night before flying home but could have stayed longer. The staff were wonderful and the rooms very clean. There was a nice big pool with comfortable beds and bean bag type seats. The food was good with everything from a meal to a snack. We were in a side room near the road and it was a bit noisy if we sat on the balcony but with the door closed we didn't hear anything. There was free WiFi and we were able to print off our flight tickets. The beach is just across the road and a tram stops outside and only costs 1Euro 40c to Athens. We went by tram to the market in the Plaka and were persuaded to eat at a restaurant called Ithaki which is behind the church on the way to Plaka.we had 2 fish which we were told was Red Snapper and the bill for the fish was E101 which we thought was very very expensive. If anyone goes there we would advise them to ask prices before eating.

As early as the day of arrival we left our luggage in the room and we went to the beach in the evening, then hung out in the restaurant. The next day in the morning we discovered that we had no money, someone at that time went through our luggage. We reported this to the front desk and managers of the hotel. was not notified the police did not know why the hotel. manager said no one was in our room at the time, the hotel still hang around any suspects people on a shared film I saw as our neighbor from next door comes into his room and after a few minutes out of the other side, so I probably jumped the balcony and he was in our room, manager advised us to bring our valuables, the hotel staff into the room without knocking, the internet is not available in the rooms, no manager has confirmed to us report the theft even though I asked him about it, no reply to e email, we consider this hotel to be very safe do not know who and what he gave here 4 star hotel because we believe does not deserve even two stars. I decided to notify the police in writing Glyfada what happened waiting for a response. If you plan to stay at this hotel take everything with them on the beach.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013

We stayed a few days in may. In a total we had a good stay. This hotel advertise with 4 star. But unfortunately it is not a 4 star hotel. I would may be say 3 star, but not more. Hotel is a bit run down and not refurbished. If you get rooms with sea front you get good rooms. The others is not so good. Aircondition can be very noicy in some rooms. And also can be disturbed from traffic. Breakfast is fine, but not with a lot of varieties. The food they do have is good. Parking is very good.

Glyfada is a nice small suburban city to Athen, good parking at hotel, good public transport to glyfada and athen and athen international airport.

Would I go back? Yes, if I got a sea front room and a fair price.

Can I recomend this hotel? Depending of what you expect. If you expect a 4 star: No, this is a 2+/3 star. But if you do not expect too high class: Yes, hotel is good if you get sea front rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for sea front room. Larger family rooms at the end facing sea front are very nice.

The sea is 3 min from the hotel. There are good transport facilities near the hotel (trams and busses), nice paths along the sea coast for jogging. The hotel staff is friendly and responsible, delicious food, a swimming pool, the rooms are cosy. So, it's a really good place!
