The Aegeon Beach is situated in a truly spectacular and beautiful location (see photo). The Temple of Poseidon ovelooks the temple and is fantastic to look upto during the day while having breakfast or at night from your room balcony when the 450BC temple ruins is lit up (see photo). We stayed for 2 days in the off season in the Junior Suite wiith 2 kids. The suite was spacious with good decor and a fair sized balcony overlooking the Aegean sea. The Hotel staff were helpful and courteous.

The water is shallow for a good distance and safe for kids to play in. Unlike a resort hotel closeby where you have to cross route 91 road to reach the beach, the Aegeon hotel is on the Beach and it is 40 metres walk from your room directly on the beach which is the way it should be. The views from the beach is great with small sail boats moored around. The facilities on the beach provided by the hotel is fairly good and the beach is clean. Next to the hotel on the beach is a shop which hires water sports equipment and make sure you hire the Pedal boat for 8 Euro an hour and go out on to the sea to enjoy the nice views of the neighbouring area. There are two taverns adjoining the hotel and for variety food you can enjoy decent sea food for lunch or dinner there.

You can walk up to the Temple of Poseidon from the hotel beach (slow walk uphill for 20 minutes). Visit the temple an hour before sunset to enjoy the breathtaking sunset from the temple on the hill (see photo). The breakfast is good but was surprised they did not serve orange juice. The nearest shops for any grocery or other items is 10 minutes by car. If you are in Athens it will be worthwhile hiring a car and driving to the hotel in Sunio as the drive for 50kms is along the Aegean sea coast the scenery is really worth it and relaxing driving on the quite route 91.

Negative Points -
The sea view from the Junior Suite balcony was spoilt by a dining extension area metal roofing which is ugly in front of the spectacular view of the sea. We wondered why the beds were not made up properly when they cleaned the room daily. Be careful while having a shower in the bath as the water will spash out on the floor as there is no proper shower glass or curtain - Bad design. No pool is a disadvantage as the sea water is cold outside July-September for long swims.

  • Liked — Nice spacious room with good sea view Balcony with spectacular scenery & locaton
  • Disliked — Hampered view from Balcony, Shower/Bath area

First off let me start off by saying that I live in a small town in Connecticut and I enjoy the quiet scene. It was my first time in Greece and my boyfriend who lives in Sunio recommended this hotel. The staff was great as we walked in and asked for a room last minute. Our room was 212 which was perfect because it had a perfect view of the beach and a great balcony. I must say that i have been too greece three times and all three time me and my boyfriend returned to this hotel. The difference is simple ! This hotel is modern yet has a home feel to it with a great balcony and the ocean view which gives you such a great sense of peace. I have great pictures which I will post soon! I would recommend this hotel to everyone! The only downside is ( the front desk somewhat made a remark about us making ""too much noise""lol Oh well other than that this would definetely be the place to stay at. ;)

One of the most beautiful hotels I ever stayed at. Breathtaking location - looking out of the window at night at the lit temple of Poseidon is awe-inspiring and during the day, the bay is dotted with boats. Inside the hotel, everything is designed with meticulous attention to detail - from the pattern of floor tiles to the layering of curtains and the shape of doorknobs - each item holds a surprise in colour, shape or texture and all are strikingly beautiful. Very quiet, scrupulously clean, free wireless internet access and courteous service (the wireless reception in the first room was poor, so they immediately moved us to another room).

  • Liked — location and interior design
  • Disliked — breakfast could have been a bit more creative

It really isn't the hotel that is so special; even though the staff was SUPERB; it is the location. If you are in Athens for at least three days, this is a good place to go to in order to really see what Greece is all about. The drive to the hotel (about an hour), gives you a good view of the real Greece and the sea. A great place to relax and enjoy.

The hotel is in Cape Sounio (near to Grecotel Cape Sounio), not in Athenes. We have stayed in a junior suite for three nights. Room is big, though and little bit dated. The big balcony with a fine view of the sea. (I will notice, that Temple of Poseidon is not visible from any room, except a presidential suite, beach and restaurant.) Good beach though it isn't so carefully cleaned - stubs everywhere are scattered - Greeks smoke much! Hardly it is possible to give to this hotel ****. When I, having arrived to hotel, have offered car keys to carry our heavy luggage - on me have looked as being from another planet. When I have asked to reserve a table at restaurant of neared Grecotel Cape Sounio (cuisine in Aegon beach not all for gourmets, in Grecotel Cape Sounio very good restaurant, with a breathtaking view on cape and Temple of Poseidon (see photos) though also expensive) - girl from a front desk have suggested me to make it self, having explained that she don't know my name! Maybe in the Greek hotels (and in this hotel there were almost only Greeks) it is usual make all them selves, especially if you the foreigner. This not so benevolent and even the venomous relation to foreigners can be observed even in the Greek telecasts of the international news. (If you travelled across Greece on the car - you should know that it is impossible to overtake the Greek cars, especially if they is more bigger and dearly that your rented. Certainly will be arranged a pursuit after you. Even if before that nobody not hasten, and being driving of 40 km speed. And if somebody will make way for you or will switch off a headlight, it on 99 % - foreign travellers.)The truth all this mockery is made with beaming smiles. Especially after you will force to wait, while will finish conversation with the Greek client, and after this client himself has not paid attention to you. "Never mind, will wait" - it was pleasant to hear (on Greek) in own address. However, when we left hotel, and I have asked to check up our flight on Santorini, to me no more suggest to ring the airport up. All have checked up and have reported with immutable well-wishing (it would be desirable to think) smiles.
