“Lovely place at the southernmost tip of Greece”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Cape Sounion is at the southernmost tip of Greece and it's about an hour drive from Athens. The place is best known for the Temple of Poseidon, but you also have an amazing view of the Aegean Sea from the hill. When we went, it was a little cloudy and very windy, but the view was still magnificent. Many people come here to see the sunset, but the day we went, it was way too windy to stay in the area for too long. Still, it was great to get away from the city and see the Aegean Sea.

“Feel the Heart of Ancient Greece...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

Temple of Poseidon it is. Watching over the Aegean and feeling the sea wind and the brilliant Greek Sun. All you need is a bottle of water and a cap. One of the several "unique" landmarks of the birth of civilization. What else to say. You need to be there...

“Once you see the Parthenon....you wont be too impressed with this one”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

Don't get me wrong if you have time to see, then you should visit however if your time is limited I would definitely recommend seeing the Acropolis area rather than this. Its quite small for the long hour drive.

“Breath taking views en route and from the Temple.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

It is worth taking the time to travel out to South Athens to see this wonderful temple. The last part of the journey is breathtaking along the coast line. It has a magical feel to it and does not cash in on to being a tourist trap.

“"Temple Of Poseidon" great ruins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

It was one of the highlight of my trip to Greece. It's only 4 euro for the pass. The view from there is just amazing, especially whilslt the sun is setting on those well built colums.Being a fan of Greek mythology makes it for more fun playing the stories in your head and imagining it happening, its like being part of it.It's about 30minutes drive from the city center,a nice drive indeed.Athena's temple is just 5minutes distance from Poseidon's temple.
