“All you really need in Guatemala”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

Clean, great location, on the lake, next to lots of restaurants and tiendas. Drink the Gallo beer, and eat Emporadora cookies. There are ATMs on the island as well. One is down the street and to the right from the hotel in a convenience store. There are others around as well. Right across the bridge there is a mall with an ATM in the grocery store too. Only real complaint is that Internet service was sporadic at best, but who cares really, it's Guatemala.

Literally, dropped on the doorstep by 'bus' system, seemed like a good value for 2 beds and a private bath. Were able to negotiate for less. Had trouble leaving the hotel the morning of the Tikal tour, as we found out we had been locked into the hotel (thank goodness no fire). While touring Tikal, I found my room had been visited. The beds were left unmade and the trash unemptied, but my personal belongings had been moved. I haven't found that I'm missing anything, but I felt lucky that my most prized items were with me though the day. Also, ended up using my sleeping bag as the sheets still had grease on them from others. Would have loved a warm shower from wet Tikal day, but found that it only ran ice cold. Find somewhere else.

Room Tip: Water side is available.

Despite the other reviews, we had a very pleasant stay here. Room prices are very negotiable and you can get a beautiful lake view and balcony. We thought hat 100q for this and ensuite was good value. Rooms were clean and quiet.

Of course they try to overcharge for tours and shuttles but with any sense you will avoid this and shop around. 60q is enough for transport to tikal and back and there is no need for a slow, restricting, costly guide. It is also easy to take public transport to palenque by 60q bus at 5am, 10q and quick boat over the river then minibus for 100pesos to palenque. No slower at all.

A good room in a basic hotel. I just needed internet and a good shower and a bed and this provided all 3 at a good price. The shower was really good but like most places in Guatemala the shower floor fills with water really quickly as the drainage is super slow.
The internet worked well, connection was good.
Location was perfect and the views were lovely.
The breakfast was average, I skipped it altogether on my second day there.
This is a good value option for Flores.

We had a great night's sleep at this hotel. Free wifi, delicious breakfast, and a spa-like shower head. This hotel was clean and in a good location. Very nice overall experience. Not to mention, this was where we stayed for our trip to Tikal, one of the most amazing sites I've seen in the world.

After arriving to Flores by a night bus, we have been taken to this hotel by touts who also offered us a trip to Tikal. The price (Q130 for a double room with a view in a ground floor) was OK, although the whole place looked shabby. The water was not totally cold, but the drain somewhat did not work, so we ended up with a small swimming pool in the bathroom. Basically, just a place to survive a night before or after Tikal.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view are more expensive, but at least you will have something to look at that is no...

Very nice and great view, great price compared from what I did see that one need to pay at other places around with a view.

Could put a bit more effort in to cleaning.

Very helpful staff.

Even tough the defiantly over charge for doing laundry, so it is best to wait and do laundry at a later stop on your trip
