Owner description: Landon Winery is a Texas winery that has two locations where wines can be sampled; historic downtown McKinney, Texas and historic downtown Greenville, Texas both of which are close to Dallas and Fort Worth. Our goal is to run a winery known for crafting award-winning Texas wines. Watch us make our wines at either location. We have produced many internationally recognized award winning wines. We source our Texas grapes from vineyards in the Texas high plains south of Lubbock and even some grapes from outside of Texas.Enjoy wine tastings at the bar, wine by the glass, wine by the bottle or take a bottle home with you. McKinney offers a great patio, live music on Friday and Saturday nights, cheeseboards, and an indoor tuscan atmosphere. Stop by for an afternoon break or enjoy a cool evening on the patio under the stars.

“Fun evening on the square”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

If you are looking for a fun evening with great wine this is the place to visit. They have a wide selection of their own wine, a large patio and nice variety of cheese plates.
So get your sweetie or grav some friends and enjoy a night on the patio.

“So slow... and not worth the wait.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Some of the wines are okay - the Pinot Grigio is good. Every time that I visit this "winery", they seem to be understaffed. We ordered a cheese platter (this is the only food available) but they were out of them and no replenishment was expected.

“Rustic Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

Our first time visiting McKinney in years, we celebrated a family event in the private tasting rooms. The location on the square is perfect; easy to locate, and we were honestly surprised by the quality of the wines we had. Service unfortunately was slow; event preparation was sparse. And no real food to speak of. For us, no need to return.

“Used to be Great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Sadly, this winery used to be a great compliment to the lovely downtown McKinney square. However, in the last year or two the quality of wine and service have suffered. It used to be a great spot to stop and relax with great, friendly service and amazing wine club events. But the wine which used to be exceptional has become average (at the exceptional price) and the service has certainly declined. The last wine club event I attended with friends included service that was almost resentful we were there and fairly hostile with the tasting requests. One of our invited guests had purchased a wine tasting and particularly enjoyed one variety. When they asked for a second taste of the same variety they were informed that was not allowed. Of course, all of this great service was after waiting 20 plus minutes to be acknowledged by staff. It's really sad to see the decline in quality and service from a place that was once a place we frequented regularly.

“Nice Downtown Square Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Being a fan of the Landon Winery, this location offers a smaller footprint with no food service like the Greenville location.

Part of the downtown McKinney Square, we like to sit outdoors on the sidewalk area watching patrons go by.

This location is busy, so be patient if your wanting to sample a flight or are picking up your monthly club offering.

Make sure you tip tambourine man if he is playing on the public bench.
