Description: Kobe was conceived from an eclectic blend of cultures and experiences. As the cuisine of Japanese sushi and hibachi originated in far east Asia, the creators of Kobe gathered a team chefs from New York City, where they picked up contemporary flavors through some of the most creative culinary kitchens in the industry. The design of the restaurant reinforces the bold flavors of the cuisine. The architect based in Houston, with design experiences from California to East Asia, has created a fusion of modern Japanese aesthetics accented with colors of light taken from the local Latin culture. The result is an ambience of sophisticated cuisine set against the background of a warm refreshing environment.

“Great food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012 via mobile

Visted with some business associates. Was a little surprised because this place was not busy at all on a Monday night at 6:30? We sat down and waitress was very attentive, took drink order and brought us the normal soup and salad. I had the filet and chicken combo which was very good, probably one of the better hibachi meals I have had. Chef was good with his knife and show. I thought dinner was a little expensive. $180.00 for 4 with one drink and tip. Would recommend other than price !

“Best REAL Sushi Restaurant in the RGV”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

There are many restaurants out there that claim to serve sushi, but let me tell you that those cream cheese filled rolls are not the real thing and definitely do not taste that way. Kobe has great rolls, with the freshest fish and delicious sauces. I guess that if you really want cream cheese in your rolls you could probably find one with some or ask to have it put in there, but believe me when I say you won't miss it. Love the sushi here. There was a 2x1 special on all rolls during the month of October 2012 so we went there at least once a week. Never been to the habashi side though. Sushi is what I like.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

sushi rools were very small and sushi rice was hard(old), we went in and
were were one of 3 tables. andeven then they took too long to bring our rolls
out.
one thing we did not like they wanted to charge us for a foam glass for my
ice and 1/2 of my soda.?? i just dont think this was worth the 45.00 we paid!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

One of the best Sushi I have ever had! Was recommended by a Japanese friend. If you can not live without the cream cheese... don't go there!. Simply is the best sushi in McAllen. Can not wait to go back!
