Quick review. Won't eat catfish anywhere else. It's that good. Enough said. Wife likes the shrimp poor boy.

“Super Kid Friendly!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

There is a variety of fried appetizer options, an assortment of big juicy burgers to choose from, and best of all, a huge kid friendly area in the back with different stations and plenty of space for them to run! :) There is live music every once in a while. Very family oriented, if you have children, take a trip out here, you will be glad you did.

“Take a short drive out to the "Country"...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

I was glad to find the hidden gem of a country, home-style restaurant ... close to Manor, and very close to Pflugerville (there is a back road you can take). It's out of town a few miles, a good "cafe-type" restaurant out in the country, but not too far out. Very nice and clean inside.... but best of all -- the FOOD ! We had chicken fried steaks (tender, hand breaded) Many others there were having the fried shrimp or catfish baskets . they have grilled shrimp dinners, too. They also offer wine (just $4 / glass), and several beers. The Oyster Poor'boy sandwich looked yummy, too. I will definitely be back... it's worth the drive . Lunch is served on disposable plates, which is fine, but I wish they gave you "real" silverware. Also, while we had the "Jackpot "Pie" , and it was very good, ... again, I wish it came as traditional pie on a plate (it is more like a layered pudding in a plastic bowl). So, while it tasted good, it was a little overpriced ($4.99); They have a kids' menu, and lots of burger , sandwich and salad choices, too. VERY good place. (menu says gluten free available).

Great fried catfish. Nice place in the country. Local live music on the weekends during the summer. Outdoor seating and space for kids to run around.

I enjoyed the fried oysters and onion rings on my last visit. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Very friendly staff too.
