“Very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel as we had come for a friends wedding. Our twin room was a good size and very comfortable and clean including the bathroom. The shower worked well.
The complementary breakfast was adequate and included most things you would want.
My case was lost by the airline and the staff could not have been more helpful.
Would stop again if we are ever back this way

We stayed for one night at this hotel. Our king sized bed & pillows were very comfortable. The room & bathroom were very clean. The shower worked great. There was a bit of a funny smell from inside the refrigerator as if someone before us had left some strong smelling food in there. Even though the room was non smoking, one could smell cigarettes in the hall. Not crazy about the elevator - weird noises. When I first called to make reservations I could not get anyone to answer the phone. It took several times of calling back to speak with someone. I am sure the person that checked us in was the same one that I spoke with - would have to agree with a previous post that this person was lacking in professionalism. Breakfast room was small but ok. Coffee was terrible in the room & not much better in the breakfast area. Did not use the pool or workout room. Would say that for this town it probably was the best place to stay. Comparing it to other Best Westerns that I have stayed in, I would rank it better than most of them.

Pros: The hotel is extremely clean and fresh smelling. The indoor heated pool and hot tub is to die for. Beds are so comfortable.
Cons: Professionalism of the front desk staff. Breakfast needs severe improvement. Room seemed a little crammed.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to jacuzzi suite.

Spent the night at the Best Western in Madisonville, TX! It was exceptionally clean, as well as quiet and comfortable. The only thing really less than OK was the length of time it took to check in. One person ahead of us at 8:30PM, but it took almost 20-30 minutes to get checked in. Two people at the front desk--but only one working!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights because we were in town for a wedding, and our room was booked for us by another family member. The hotel was clean, and quiet, but it seemed like there were issues with all the 'little things.' To begin with, it took forever to get checked in. There were no problems, but the front desk person just didn't seem to be in a big hurry. Our bed was fine, but the pillows were small, flat, and lumpy. Our room also did not get cleaned between the two nights we were there. While we in the room all morning, I don't see any reason why our room couldn't have been cleaned during the afternoon. While sleeping in an unmade bed doesn't bother me, we did have to go down to the front desk and get clean towels. I used the fitness center, which consisted of an elliptical, exercise bike, and treadmill. The exercise bike did not work. We enjoyed the pool, but was what could only be described as 'murky' and VERY over-chlorinated. The breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about. We would stay here again, but only if we were limited to Madisonville, because there aren't any other better options in the area. I would consider staying in Huntsville or College Station better alternatives if they aren't out of your way.
