“Windmills from beginning to present day - excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

Great museum - very informative and many exhibits of all types and sizes. We attended a wedding here - outdoor ceremony and reception inside the large hall with a huge mural depicting early west - beautifully done.

“Fantastic display”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

This was time well spent. The diversity of historic windmills was awesome. The display was well laid out and you could spend as much time as you wish. Personnel at the front desk were very helpful and had additional knowledge when requested. The gift shop was also a treat, with some wonderful decorative "wind mobiles" for your patio or garden.

A great experience.

“Fascinating for children & adults”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

This is the only museum of its kind in the world that we know of. Absolutely fascinating with all the different types of windmills, the easy to read information, the wall mural, and the inlaid wood panel. Just wonderful.

“A Museum about Wind?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

This is an interesting experience. "Alternative" energy has been used by our pioneer settlers for generations and we have all forgotten.

“Historical Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

The American Wind Power Center has become one of our favorite places to visit. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There are so many windmills to see! The history is priceless. The large mural has been completed and is amazing - so many details that tell a wonderful story of West Texas. This part of the world has a rich history and is often overlooked. It is so pleasant to stroll through the indoor windmills as well as the outdoor windmills. We took our grandson to see the Christmas train display and the volunteer working that morning turned off all the indoor lights so he could see how each little house on this displays were lighted up. Where else would you get such personal attention? Definitely a'must see' if in Lubbock, Texas.
