Wonderful trees from all over the world set in the gorgeous Howardian Hills. The cafe in the visitors centre is excellent, sandwiches, both hot and cold, are prepared freshly from local ingredients and there is always a good choice of home-made cakes.
You can walk anywhere, a map is provided, there are 2 trails shown, the short one takes about an hour and the long one up to 2 hours but you can spend the whole day there.
Dogs are well catered for (even the poo bins are marked on the map) and are allowed off lead in most of the arboretum (they must be on leads in the area close to the visitor centre and around the lake).
For visitors who are less able to walk distance 2 buggies are available for no additional charge, these must be booked in advance.
A great day out, if the weather is fine
