“Worthwhile place to visit but buy an annual pass”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Have to admit that we have thoroughly enjoyed visiting Castle Howard recently. The price for a day admission is quite expensive but as we are fairly local we bought an annual pass which is actually very good value for money. Lovely grounds, particularly on a summers day. cafe was very nice with a great selection. Huge sandwiches very well priced.

“Grand old house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

Really nice place, and such opulence. Worth a visit, and if you get good weather, take a picnic, the grounds are great. A bit off the beaten track, but that is a positive in some ways, as it adds to the feeling of going back in time!!

Fish &chips not what I expected, fish bland, batter soggy, under cooked greasy wedges, not chip's !! I mentioned this to a member of staff who was just not interested.

“A must visit if you are in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

We were taken aback by the beauty of this house and gardens. What made it even more enjoyable is the guides. So friendly and knowlegable, without being boring. They bring the house alive and it is obvious they enjoy their work. Wonderful food when we had lunch. Even the tractor ride (another great guide) down to the lake is fun. A special mention to the ladies in the gift shops full of fun. I think we will be coming again.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

Castle Howard has THE most beautiful sights in north Yorkshire! It has outstanding scenery with themes at Easter and other calander events. Great for families and friends! The food is gorgous as well but slightly pricey!!!
I have also attended the concerts there such as olly murs (he's aMURSing) the atmosphere was amazing and perfect for a first concert for the youner generation!!! A very peaceful environment
