What a wonderful place. Charmed by the time of year and lots of Christmas trees and decorations of all shapes and sizes in so many of the room, we had a superb visit. The fires were all roaring against the cold outside and a pianist was playing in the grand hallway, overlooked by the minstrel balcony - it was just magical and well worth the entrance fee. We walked down to the Boathouse for lunch, but it was very cold inside - even the poor girl serving wore coat and hat! A great setting for better weather though, located on the water's edge. We will definitely return in the future and Castle Howard exceeded my expectations.
