“Great view and good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

We ate here after visiting the USS Texas Battleship. If you want a view of the ship channel, you have to get a booth. we sat at a table just behind the booths and still had a great view.

The portions are large, so you either have to have a huge appetite or get a doggie bag.

the rolls and cinnamon rolls are great.

If you are visiting the San Jacinto Memorial and the Battleship Texas, make plans to eat at the Monument Inn.

“Something's slipping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

This used to be our go to place for seafood close to home. After today's meal I wonder. The best part of your meal here is the yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls that come with your meal.took the poor in distress waitress till we were halfway through our meal to bring them. Kind of distressing after she promised she would bring them. Now the food. The Fishermans Platter was ,as always, a lot of good food. Too bad it was warm, not hot. The Fried Shrimp were hot, but they sat on a bed of cold fries. Empty water glasses. Not inquiry of seconds on drinks from the bar. And didn't ask if we wanted dessert. Maybe next time it will be better.

“Monument inn and delicious rolls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Delicious. Cinnamon rolls are the best. Pricey menu. Fast service and hot food. Sit back and watch the Lynchburg ferry run cars across the channel. Delicious and relaxing. DELCIOUSNESS!

“Enjoy some Texas history and then eat the BEST seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

Our daughter and son-in-law live nearby. We love to visit the Monument Inn when we are in Texas. Go early and visit the San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas. One of our favorite places to eat. I love this restaurant for dinner especially if you go late enough to watch the sunset. There are no "bad" tables. The food is wonderful. Being a bread freak I enjoy the basket of freshly baked cinnamon rolls and tradition breads/rolls that is brought to the table for snacking while the food is being prepared. YUM. The only problem is deciding which seafood item to order. We generally order a variety and eat of eath other's plates. Truly some of the best seafood I have ever had. This restaurant is multi-generational. Plenty of high chairs and booster seats are available. The staff will push tables together for large groups. If you go on a Saturday a reservation is a good idea.

“Great food”

Visit San Jacinto monument and Battleship Texas then go to Monument Inn for some great seafood. Busy inside and service is a little slow but overall a great dining experience. A bit pricey but worth the $$.
