“Great history lesson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2014

Loved the views, do not think the price for the lift to the top was too bad. Did not do the on-site museum, but there was a lot of history just reading the inscriptions on the monument walls. The surrounding area could need some work, as the grounds seem to be not kept at all. Defiantly worth the drive if you are in the Houston area, and make sure you visit the nearby battleship Texas while here.

“Great Monument that is a Hidden National Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2014

Was visiting Houston, and decided to take a quick morning trip to do something before an afternoon Astros game. Decided to go to the Battleship Texas which is right next to this. The monument is very impressive. Bigger than the Washington Monument in DC. I was not even aware that this National Treasure existed until my 8 year old told me that he read about it in the Guiness Book of World Records, so we had to go check it out. Great Texas history about the battle. You can ride the elevator all the way to the top, and the views are magnificent.

“Amazing views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

Monument itself and surrounding areas are well maintained. Views are amazing, but you have to pay and the cost is low.

For an additional fee there is a small gallery with artifacts from the period and an additional fee for a short historical movie. That was the bad part. Even if you have small family, it will be a bit costly for the short time you will spend in the monument.

“Every Texan should visit this place and know the sacrifices made to have such a great state.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

The Monument to me was almost spiritual. Needs more traffic directions to find this place like in highway signs.
