“New Review. Not as good as it used to be”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Something has happened at the Tasting Room and it is not good. They are charging excessive prices on their wine. The food is not as good as it used to be. And the staff is turning over very quickly. The location can't be beat for this area. But it's not worth the prices that they (over)charge for an average glass of wine. My research of their wine list tells me that there is either a huge markup (300% or more) or the wines are not available for retail purchase anywhere in the Houston area (hmmm, I wonder why that would be.)

“Low quality wines and the worst steak I have ever eaten.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

Although there is a large wine selection, there are no real shining stars in the group except for champagne. The quality of food has been inconsistent across my visits here. I ordered a medium rare steak on my most recent visit and got a well done steak wrapped in a piece of bacon that was awful. It was a low grade choice steak which was disappointing for the price. Although I like my vegetables al dente, the potatoes were undercooked to the point I had to use a steak knife to cut them. My friends chicken was dry and tasteless. Our shrimp appetizer over couscous was tasty, but the shrimp were slightly undercooked. It is better to order an appetizer or come for Sunday brunch. Unless you sit at the bar, expect slow service.

“Great for a drink and appetizer, not dinner!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

We went here for dinner with friends and couldn't be more disappointed! First the pros- great atmosphere, good wine and apps. Dinner was horrible and way over priced! My husbands pizza (which is their specialty) was burnt to a crisp on the bottom. The pot pie maybe had 3 pieces of meat in it, and our special for the evening was Jumbo stuffed prawns-it was only ONE and it was way over cooked and not jumbo at all, it was so over cooked the shell stuck to it!! And that was $20 for some artichokes and couscous!!!!! I would not return here unless it was only for drinks before dinning somewhere else.

“Good wine selection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

This is the newest location for the offshoot of Max's Wine Dive in Houston. There's a view of Lake Houston. The menu is geared more toward snacks but that is a nice alternative to the the restaurants located an either side of the Tasting Room.
