The River Terrace Steak House offered a pleasant dining area with soft background music that allowed for a conversation - had I not been traveling alone. The clientele was generally dressed casually - from boots and a t-shirt to slacks and a dress shirt. The Filet was a bit underdone for a medium - closer to rare - so you might want to order up. Regardless it was tasty and I did not send it back. The wine selection is fairly limited particularly if you want to order by the glass. With Avalon as a $8 per glass offering, I decided to order a $4 beer. While not fancy, it is not pretentious either. The food was good and an out the door price of $34.00 with a 25% tip gives you an idea of what you might spend. The weather was too hot to sit on the terrace, but during the fall the river is well within view and seemed very appealing. Service was timely and polite and the manager gave me nice thank you as I headed out.
